I was looking at the USW 8 and 10 ft indystyle whips, as well as the Joe Strain 8 and 10 ft (from western stage props) and was wondering which one was better.

I have a 6ft Joe Strain bullwhip, and I can stand by the performance, it's a heck of a whip. Don't know much about the USW whip, but if I were you I'd consider Joe's first. But then again you may want to go the extra mile and get a DM whip, but that's quite a mile to undergo...

yeah, thanks for the advice. but right now, any high-quality whip is a major step, but there's no way im gonna shell out 600-700 for a bullwhip, not in this lifetime.

I believe the USWings bullwhips and the Western Stage Props bullwhips are both the same whips made by Strain. Sergei would know for sure.

Yeah, the picture is the same. At one time, USWings used to source the roo Indy Whip from Western Stage Props. I called Mark Allen in December to verify if that was true. Apparently they don't do this anymore. What is confusing is that when I called USWings last December to see if they had 8 foot IKangaroo Indy Whips in stock, they said rather abruptly, that everything on the web page is in stock. Which I know was a total misrepresentation. The picture showed a Joe Strain Indy bullwhip with the specific knot design from Mark Allen. So, I leave that to your own conclusion. Nevertheless, I didn't like the way I was treated, so no business from me.
