Wested prototypes for CS: Novapelle?

I read that the Wested prototypes for Crystal Skull were novapelle. Anyone can confirm this? And, if yes, it was a Peter idea, or a Pollack specific request? :?:

Also, I read that Peter's CS jackets were re-engineered. How so. What was done to make the jacket a better design?

Although it probably would be best if Peter replied to this, I'll take a go at answering this...

Here's a direct quote from Peter himself though:

The point of this picture is to show the difference between the much modified TN Skulls jacket as shown in the smaller picture and the Wested Skulls prototype in the main picture.
The much modified collar is of course the main difference although I cannot see it? What else?
Admittedly the zip on the TN Skull jacket is about 3" from the bottom of the jacket but the skin is almost identical, a soft slightly distressed hide called 'Novapelle' which apart form its Italian sound comes from S.America.
I have been custom making this Skulls modified LC jacket for my more priveledged clientell and shall continue to do so. Keep the faith folks and lets hope its a great film.
Cheers

As for the jacket being re-engineered, I suppose that was more of something that can be attributed to Tony Nowak, as he took the Keppler design and corrected what he saw as design flaws.

However, going by that logic, Peter Botwright also would have re-engineered the Keppler jacket, as he was given the dimensions and produced a Wested version of the jacket.

Remember, the measurements sent to Peter were only preliminary. He made hands on observations when he visited Western Costume over a weekend.

Peter's CS proto is a different cut, pleats are shallower, the yoke is different, it just fit differently.
