They are vents.

Good find! Both gridded and circular hole patterns would be correct.

What size is the right size for a bag?

The flange diameter on my MkVII measure 7/8" or about 2cm across.
The overall height of the stem should be pretty short as it's only going through 2 layers of material.

Where's Magnoli?

Well, Magnoli's people who make his bags already have drain vents and can source their own I guess.

Here I am! Yes, that is a great find and selection, but we've already got our source and I'm quite happy with it.

I wouldn't mind finding better snaps, but I probably won't be doing another run for a year or so.

Kind regards,
Magnoli
