Club Obi Wan

I ordered a Magnoli Mark VII bag almost 3 weeks ago, and man am I happy I did! I have back problems and usually carry a briefcase to work. While summer came and I did not want to carry said briefcase anymore. So I decided I wanted a bag much like our heroes. I poked around the internet and stumbled upon Club Obi-Wan. I read the many reviews and visited the vendors sites. I decided that I would go with Indy Magnoli's bag because it looked like it could handle the everyday use it would get. It came on Wednesday and I have been field testing it since than. I love this bag.

Ok here are some photos:

This bag holds a lot. Pictured I have my wallet, multi-tool, mp3 player, micro umbrella, cell phone, fountain pen, and the numerous CD I carry to work each day. Even with all this it still has room.


The bag closed. I made a strap out of an old dog leash, a buckle off of an old sporran chain, and some Chicago screws. I will pick up a better strap some time soon. But right now it looks ok and serves it's purpose.


The bag hung up with my fedora. I like the brown colour. I am not a SA purest (but I respect those who are!) The fedora is a Biltmore Cavalier I received from my family when I was accepted into the History/ Archaeology program at the university I attended. It's not SA either, but it has been a faithful friend on many adventures over the last 10 years. I know this new bag will last that long!!

I don't know what I should admire more... Your resourcefulness, or the guts to wear a strap made from an old dog leash!

I have MKVII and I use my bag for work all the time; I have only had the bag one week and it is so handy. I am just waiting a bag strap to arrive, but these bags are very usefull. I can pack my work shirt washing in the front section; thats two rolled up shirts and the rest of the bag is for say a book and locker keys.

If you're interested in a new strap, I believe Todds Costumes are selling their "imperfects" for about $10 And that bag looks amazing... I may have to consider one just because I'd like something newer looking...

Since Indy was named after a dog...
My screen name is actually my dearly departed canine companions name. He was a 120lb Malamute/German Sheppard (though my friends thought he was a wookie). If this leash could handle him.. and it's a nice reminder of my best pal..

Thanks! I have had this bag for a few weeks and I think it is one of the most useful items I have ever owned!! I used it all weekend at a highland games I attended. At one point it was even carrying my sporran!!
It does make me feel Indy-ish. Not only would it make a pretty good costume piece it is a great everyday use piece!

(oh in case anyone was wondering the leash is a Weaver Leash 3/4'. They are one of the best companies I have come across for sturdy leashes, and a pretty good strap as well! )

I recieved my Magnoli bag the other day! I didnt realize it had so many usefull pockets! I have already loded it down with my fossil hunting gear for a trip this weekend! Great bag!!!!

Your Magnoli bag looks good, Wulfgang - glad to see that you're getting a lot of use out
of it. Taking them on flights is a good way to get around the limit they put on carry-on
bags, too. You can never take too much stuff with you on a trip!

Oh, how I wish that the Grail cup and water would really work. My dear old pooch was collapsed and couldn't walk just a few weeks ago. $742.00 later, and 6.5 hours in the Animal Emergency Clinic, I found out that my old guy doesn't have any cartilage in his hips any more. So now he is on a non-steroid anti-inflammatory medication and we have to cut out the Frisbee fetching, but regular fetch and walks should be OK; just no more agility work for the old pup.

Sorry to read that about your faithful buddy - hope he's doing better. Make sure
to bring some extra biscuits in your MKVII when you take him out for walks! :junior:

I second that.

Just make sure not to overdo the bicuit thing: the last thing a dog with a busted hip needs is getting overweight.

My Wulfie had some problems with his hips too. We ended up buying these Shark cartilage cookies that worked for him. Check out your local pet shop!
In other news, the Magnoli MKVII is still holding in there. I take it everywhere. Some friends might be getting one as a present this year fro Christmas!!

Is that bag green or brown? I was looking at Magnolis site after seeing this thread and it seems brown to me. I was contemplating a purchase to get my gear going but I would prefer the OD green.
