Wested Off the Rack real dimensions thread
I noticed that the dimensions of the OTR jackets in the sizing table published by Wested are not correct.
So I think it's a good idea to start a thread with the real dimensions of our OTR jackets: I hope this will help new customers in ordering wisely...
I start with my jackets, and I hope you will do the same with yours:
42 REG - RAIDERS AUTHENTIC BROWN LAMBSKIN
Shoulder 7.10
Sleeve 24.40
Back length 25.60
Chest armpit to armpit: 23.60
42 REG - RAIDERS NOVAPELLE
Shoulder 7.10
Sleeve 24.80
Back lenght 25.60
Chest armpit to armpit: 23.60
42 REG - RAIDERS DENIM
Shoulder 7.10
Sleeve 25.20
Back lenght 26.00
Chest armpit to armpit: 23.60

I'd be very interested in the real-world sizing for the OTR 44 "Raiders" and "Crystal Skull" jackets.
As I'm 6' 2" and 90kg, I'm currently wondering if my recent order will fit me. The sizes shown on the website look a little on the small side...
Any help would be most appreciated!

It sound like the Raiders Special offer Washed Goat is a "Long", just like my ROLA Special lamb.Heyjude7 wrote:HEy Gents, Gemma just gave me the measurements for the Raiders Special offer Washed Goat

chest 44in

I found that out when I was measuring the jacket for the costom LC/CS jacket I want to order and Gemma confirmed all the ROLA specials were "Long".
Regards, Geert
No offense, but I would take Gemma's numbers with a grain of salt, I'd hold off on posting the numbers until you have the jacket in your hands and are measuring with an enthusiast's eye. Just look, those sleeve numbers are conflicting to begin with.
Also - everyone who posts numbers should take care to describe the jacket to it's fullest description, as there are OTR jacket that include the "ROLA"s which are patterned differently than the "Standard Spec" ones. So, the point is to be very thorough.

I agree Castor, none of mine have ever been identical in measurement - but then I've never bought (yet) one of the OTR jackets either. Customs shouldn't be added to this list, only OTR. Still I think this effort is worth while since as far as we know the Wested may have tightened up the tollerances lately or perhaps the folks that are making the OTR jackets are being very carefull with the pattern and deminsions (or not ). This thread would tell the tale and atleast if everyone got in on it, then a buyer could be able to look at several in his/her size and make a decision based on an average. Still though, human error with regards to measurements could effect what's posted but that goes without sayin'.

That is exactly why I stated my jacket was a ROLA Special. The mesurements that Gemma gave to Heyjude7 are almost an exact match to how I measured my size 42 ROLA Special.Doug C wrote:Also - everyone who posts numbers should take care to describe the jacket to it's fullest description, as there are OTR jacket that include the "ROLA"s which are patterned differently than the "Standard Spec" ones. This would mean the jacket Heyjude7 was asking about should be an 80's fit. This is strange since there is no mention on their site of it being anything other than a standard jacket.
Heyjude7, I think you should send Gemma another e-mail asking whether or not the Raiders Special offer Washed Goat is an 80's fit or not.
Regards, Geert
Gemma could be right about those numbers or she may have been confused (there are alot of choices after all). Although I'm not saying it's the norm, we know that there have been mix ups in what's been sent out even amongst the OTR jackets AND the description of the jacket Heyjude asked about, reads "Standard Specs" so that's why I say wait until the jacket arrives.

i will email her Gents! Shes gonna kill me..ive emailed her about 20 times asking every question about sizing under the sun! from what i take on it.. i think that this http://www.ekmpowershop4.com/ekmps/shop ... -115-p.asp
is an 80's fit and is suppose to be like the other Special offers but with certain standard specs like leather facings, etc... but an 80's fit..
when i get the jacket i will post an inch by inch measurement of it for this thread.
hows that sound?

I wouldn't write her again personally, she's been short with me a couple times in the past though, I even started a thread on it. I've found if you bug her too much her messages can get cryptic or just hard to understand. In her defense though, she's probably covered up in goofy questions constantly.

OTR 46" raiders goat £135 purchased 2 weeks ago;
Shoulder 7"
Sleeve 27" at new (now rolled up an inch with wrinkles)
Back 27"
Pit to Pit (assuming this is laid flat with the pleats flat) 25"
I'm 6' 4" and an average build with long arms.the sleeves are slightly shorter than the Indy screen standard first knuckle on me but it's no biggie. My only gripe is the sleeves and cuffs seem a shade voluminous! OK if you were Popeye but on your average joe a bit baggy!

Thanks Last Crusader, that will probably be very helpful. Just a suggestion to those taking measurements though, always measure the pit to pit (chest) from the front of a zipped up jacket because the back panel is expandable and dimensions will very. Actually numbers 1,2,5 from your diagram would best be done that way, IMHO. Hopefully everyone will use this diagram and stick to it's numbering system, it's a good idea to keep things straight.

Ok Gents, i got the jacket today and guess what? wrong size! Gemma told me the jacket measured 44 inches in the chest and its really 46... all the other measurements are right on but the chest size.
Sleeve 25.5in
Back 26in
shoulder 7
the sleeve openings are 10in
but the sleeves are 1 inch bigger compared to my other wested indy.
is it so hard to measure correctly?

How much did you have the sleeves shortened by? Was it a couple of inches?jacksdad wrote: but I wear a 44 and except for having the sleeves shortend it fits great.hope this helps.

Heyjude - I hate to say I told you so, but "a grain of salt.." It's not even my jacket and it erks me that she still got it wrong after you asked her to reconfirm after she'd given you the numbers and the chest was supposed to measure 44 but it actually measures a 46 on this size42 jacket. So that tells us that the Washed Goat is NOT "'80s fit" which I never belived it was because it reads "standard specs". There is a lack for attention to detail in that camp.

Not that it would do much good but I'd send a copy of your correspondance along with a good digital picture of the tape measure and jacket and ask them to cover the shipping to send it back. That's only FARE. Talk to Peter over the phone if that doesn't help. I know that the extra roomy chest would bother me to the point that I would end up selling it eventually anyway - but you may be different.

Can you show us a pic with you wearing it with a normal Indy thickness shirt?Heyjude7 wrote:i might just **** it up and keep it an hopefully it shrinks a little over time.... ok im being stupid to think it will shrink 2 inches.. any other suggestions?
If it really is too big then better send it back.
But also review the idol grab sequence and the amman's house, you may be surprised at how loosely the jacket actually fits, especially in the upper arms.
I did Doug C, this is what i wrote, not to blahb everything out there:
i wrote to her this... i hope that posting this email does not violate any rules on the board
Dear Gemma,
I received the Washed Goat Raiders jacket Size 42. It is too big for me. I did the measurements and the measurements that you gave me a week ago are not the same as the jacket I received.
From your email you stated that the jacket was a size 42 that measured 44 inches in the chest, 26 in sleeve, shoulder 7 in, and back length 26. Everything was right but the chest size. The chest measurement was 46 inches making it a little bit too big for me. What can I do now?
Thank you
Jason

Dear Jason,
The jacket I measured was the jacket I sent you,it seems that you must measure your sizing differently to us,you can return this can we can exchange the size for you,if you wish to do this you will need to mark on the parcel jacket purchased from England being returned for alteration/repair.
Cheers Gemma

Jude, to be accurate they sent you the correct size that you asked for right, a size 42. However the problem is that you were told multiple time the wrong chest measurement. Ask her to explain how she measures, if nothing else it would be nice if we all knew. Include a picture of your measuring tape where the tape is showing 46" (23" across the chest) and let her know that's how everyone in this forum measures. I understand if you don't want to persue it, but what's to loose if it's going to cost you anyway (either in shipping or selling it at a loss). Try measuring it in every imaginable way to see if you can come up with 44", I doubt you can and if not ask how.

i tried measuring it everyway possible.. i will post pics tonight.. i dont have access to my camera and laptop where i can upload the pics.. darn gov't comps dont allow uploading!
I just think if i send it back and get a size 40 then it wont fit me in the sleeves.. quite a conundrum..
would they be able to change the order to the Special offers raiders goat instead of the washed goat?
you guys said that the special offer soft goat is 80s cut correct?
