Hello to you all...with pictures.

Post by steve4291 »

Hi, I've just joined so I thought I'd do the introductions thing. I already posted this in the Christy's Adventurer thread, but it looks pretty quiet now so apparently I was digging in the wrong place.
I got my Christy's Adventurer today along with my messageboard authorization so here is my first post! Hello to you all!
Okay, I've been living with a badly treated Disney fedora and a random trilby thing that I got from a market stall untill I found this forum and caved into buying myself a delicious Adventurer and as I said it has now arrived! It's pretty #### lovely. Only thing I'd ask is is there a tutorial or a guide to bashing the hat? And also I'd rather it didn't fold up at the back like it does, how d'you straighten that out?

Anyway nice to be here and here are some photos. Don't mind the expression I just couldn't help but think 'No camels' and pull the expression when taking the photos.

Steve

Steve, just because one thread quiets down doesn't mean that folks don't see your intro, nor does it mean they're ignoring you. It's just the ebb and tide of the boards. There's generally no need to start a brand new thread just to repost the exact post from another thread. Oft times we will lock or delete duplicates just so we can keep certain discussions in one place or in order to help keep the archives tidy. Just a polite FYI, that's all. At any rate, welcome aboard and enjoy your stay!

Awesome brim curl going on there! I'm a fan of the LC style brim curl (not Venice pier though), and I think you have a great curl on there. Beautiful looking hat! I say don't change it!

I'm from London basically. I was in Bristol the other day tho!
Thanks for the compliments. I just remembered what the woman on the making of Raiders dvd said, how they basically beat the #### out of the hat till it looked right! And voila.

Congratulations and welcome! Like some are so fond of saying here, "Come for the gear, stay for the people."
Good looking Christy's. It is one of the next on my ever growing list. :D

Cheers!
