As a long-time lurker to the board, I've finally pulled the trigger on the Belstaff Indy jacket after seeing the pics of Mike Jones' in an earlier thread. It wasn't an easy task tracking this bad boy down - each store was only provided with a handful and it's a long wait if you order one.

This particular jacket had more grain visible than other examples I've seen from Belstaff - I thought this had real character.

Will post further pics of the jacket being worn when the weather improves! I'm in the UK and it's been a bit miserable recently.

Hi, jacksdad. Many thanks! I had to order the jacket through a UK Belstaff "flagship" store but they had to ship it in from Rome. The UK had around 10 jackets in total for customers, apart from pre-orders. When I first visited Belstaff, they only had a M left and I'm XXL (their jackets are notoriously small).

"English Sunshine" I like to call it...

I was in Scotland a few years back and remember it going from blinding sun to sideways rain in less than an hour...

England was a bit more tolerable, but can be rough at times.

At least it's not Seattle!

No doubt a super nice jacket; however, I just don't understand the interest in the Belstaff jacket. Especially since it is so expensive AND an original SA jacket is readily available from Tony Nowak.

Now for the million-dollar question: How much did you pay?

It looks very different from the Mike Jones one. :

There are a few reasons why I took a deep breath and went for the Belstaff. Firstly, as I'm in the UK, I was nervous about sizing for a custom-built jacket. I really wanted to try the jacket on in person.

Secondly, I collect Belstaff movie-themed jackets so this very limited edition item was top of my "must have" list.

Lastly, I really liked the grain patterning on this particular jacket. The leather has real character. Although it isn't SA, it really looks like it's had a few adventures already and Belstaff's distressing on top of this looks quite natural.

I love the TN jacket but I knew when I saw the Belstaff that I'd have to purchase it.

Not quite a million dollars! As I bought the jacket with a few others, I can't remember the exact price but I think it would have worked out in the $1700 region. I know it was expensive but, hopefully, it'll be going strong in many years.

Next to a Medium sized jacket, the XXL had a lot more grain patterning. It was a surprise to me that the leather wasn't ultra-smooth all over but I actually preferred the grain on this one. Each Belstaff is unique but this XXL really stood out in the shop. Like I say, not SA but I felt that the jacket had extra character.

Managed to take some outdoor pics when it stopped raining for a while! Quite a humid day but I persevered...

but when I see this one and the TN jackets...they look all like Raiders fitted jackets...no baggy CS style jackets..

but still very nice!

Welcome -- and great looking jacket. You don't look like an xxl though. Belstaff jackets must be a small fit.

Yep, Belstaff jackets are notoriously small and snug. I've had to shed a few kg for some of my jackets as they really take no prisoners. The "Indy" jacket has more space than others, i.e. their "War of the Worlds" Hero jacket and the new "Batman" blouson.

Actually... the 1st and 3rd photos are a good examples of the illusion of the camera. In the 1st you can see that, clearly, the pocket flaps are not scalloped but in the 3rd they look as if they are. Which is "screen accurate"? Both!!!

It's a great optical illusion. I was genuinely surprised at how different the pockets looked in the third photo. Just goes to show why there's so much debate about what we see in the movies!

Believe me, I know about the scalloped pocket debate. (See the Nowak Owner's thread.) Some people were convinced the pockets on the CS jacket were scalloped based solely upon 2-3 pictures that created the illusion that they were. After I got my Tony Nowak jacket I demonstrated that the pockets were not scalloped be recreating the illusion, but some were still not convinced. Oh well.
