New Indy Jacket Maybe If We All Ask???

A little off topic, but I found a site that makes really insanely wonderful leather jackets. It's called Fox Creek Leather out of Virginia. I wondered if they were overwhelmed by suggestions if they would consider adding an Indy jacket to their inventory? The leather on these jackets is naked leather, butter soft, but tough as nails. Also the jackets are made in America...

I looked at their site and the jackets I saw are in the $400 and up price range. If they did a custom run I wouldn't imagine them to be much cheaper than that. I wonder how many would be interested in such a pruchase?

Probably not many, since we already have so many options from a number of fine vendors (Mag, Wested, TN, Todd, USW, G&B, etc.) for around the same price range.

So Many Options

And what would our economy be like if we stopped buying more and more things that we don't really need? Surely there are a few fans who need just one more jacket?

Maybe we could convince them to make the perfect LC jacket.

I'm not sure we really need another Indy Jacket maker...

I don't know. If you look at the leather up close it's just so beautiful. I think an Indy jacket made in black with this leather would be outstanding and priced around $400.00. But a jacket like that would last a lifetime, they have a lifetime guarantee on their jackets and will repair anything even if you wipe out on your bike...Read the testimonials and a little about Fox Creek Leather, believe me if they put out an Indy jacket people would buy it...

Try getting in touch with them to see if they're open to the idea. Maybe they'll tell you what it would take to convince them and how it might be priced. Or maybe just planting the seed will be enough...

I looked at the website too. I really think they have one nitch in the market. motorcycle gear.If they offerd A-2's and othe jackets I think they would be up for an Indy jacket, but seeing only motorcycle gear I don't think they would get into any other style. You can try but I doubt it. My two cents good luck though.

Another new Indy jacket

I think one service missing is that of a company that would take its own measurements of every client for every jacket, just as the custom tailors do. This, plus Made in USA, would be compelling reasons to order.

They do custom fit. They told me they would send me the style I want then return it to them with the modifications I want like snap sides and they will make it...

Just for the record, a friend of mine that I ride with has a Fox Creek leather jacket, and I often just find myself gaping at it when I ride with him. It's very distinctive, and really well constructed with very good features. He has the brown vented jacket. I really wish they would offer more styles and colours.

If they made an Indy jacket, I'd be tempted, but the Indy jacket style isn't a serious biker jacket (and hence, hard to justify for the price, versus something more screen accurate) If they could pull it off, I might change my mind tho...
