Indiana Jones and the Emperor's tomb complete review.

Greetings all,
I recently purchased, played and finished Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb. First, I do not think that anyone will have a problem with this game because it is not as hard as some of the other games that are out there today and I am saying this after playing the game on the Normal setting. With saying that it is important to note that what is pretty simple to one may not be the same for another.
The handling of the controls are pretty easy, and the key to making it alive in the end is the ability to use the whip well, which performs three different cracks aside for being used to swing from one gap to another.
Here is what I liked, the music brings back all the warm feelings of watching the Indy Triology in the first place. The settings are interesting and fun, epecially seeing the inter cut of the clipper over the world map when locations change. The voice of Indy is very good making you feel like Ford is really there. There are 10 levels in total, which each have mini missions in them which extend the length of the whole game. Level one in Ceyon is your training before going after the Emperors Tomb. There are a few intersting comments made by Indy which would only be understood if you are very familiar with the movies especially Temple of Doom. The biggest challenge comes from the traps rather than any boss fights, Nazi's, arabs, demons, Chinese warriors or monsters.
What I did not like is that this game has a lot of common elements to Buffy game. Like drinking water to increase one's health, breaking tables and chairs and using it as make shift weapons. One of Indy's weapons is the Reaper Blade (not called that in the game) but extactly the same weapon in the Buffy game and handles in the same way.
The sound of the music disorts from time to time and the graphics are not totally up to what can be expected from Xbox. Indy's face could have been made to look more like Harrison's especially when one see's Buffy version of Sarah Michelle.G and Pierce Brosnan's face in the new Bond game which are simply amazing.
Tips:
Croc's and Great white sharks can be killed faster with the knife, than the spear gun. Always try and take them out first before going any further.
When facing the huge White Crocodile, after trapping him in the left hand corner of the temple, make sure to dive and clear the openings at the base of the underwater colum as you will fall into an underwater chamber once taking the idol off the base.
To defeat the Kraken, one must jump into the pool after colllecting the Super spear gun and charges from the right hand side and aim for the Kraken's eyes, which cause him to flee for a few second inorder to plant the charges on the four coloums under water. The right hand side I found to be better than any other side because it puts close enough to shoot and a safe distance away not be caught by the tenticles of the beast.
In level 10, to make it into the Emperor's Tomb after going a portal requires crossing blocks which are triggered by spining colums. The order in which each one is pressed in the key to having enough of time to jump over these blocks and in to the other side. Before leaping always have the whip handy as there will be some distances between blocks which will require whip to help you swing over to the other blocks. First study the order of each block as it comes up and press the colums from first to last inorder to insure you have the most time to make each jump. I wrote down the order and was thinking of posting it but what is the fun in that, but if you really need it which I doubt let me know and I will be more than happy to help.
If you are an Indy Fan you will love this game more than your average Joe, I would not buy this game for $50, rather than awaiting till the price fell. It is certainly worth a rent though and the manuel is a refreshing change of pace. 7/10 as a game.
Hope this helps,
All the best,
Stefan
