Pics of USW Hot Off The Truck - Holy Goat!!!

And I mean hot because it's a sizzler here today.
This is my first ever goatskin jacket and I can say I was unprepared for what that hide is like. I honestly don't see how this thing will even begin to age. The quality of the leather - texture, uniformity - seems excellent and the workmanship is the same.
This is most likely my second and last Indy jacket. I posted the USW cowhide I recieved a few weeks ago for comparison. The goat literally arrived minutes ago, so all I can say is it matches the other USW in terms of fit and finish. The cow is softer and a bit heavier but the goat seems more like body armor - it's certainly dressier and seems like it will repel water.
For just about $300 (and another free DP crushable to give to a friend) I feel once again I got a great value. This is most likely the jacket that'll travel with me most. I love the aged look of the cow and feel the goat is the perfect counter to it.
Yee Haa!

looks good, but let me ask you what size did you get and how do the sleeves feel to you. When I got mine,it was too big,and I followed their size chart, second the sleeves were like a lettermans jacket to me. what do you think. I agree the hide and workmanship are superb, but it's the cut I couldn't get out of my head to be happy. Hope you enjoy yours and wear in good health.

What a great looking Goat. I would love to see you wearing it, but hey its a beutifull looking skin, and well done on a great choice; personally I love Goat; tough, drapes well and take ages to wear out; so I read in the threads.
Take care, Paul.

Is that the "VIP?"..... If so, I had the same exact one about 5 months ago, but returned it due to poor fit. The leather and workmanship was excellent however....right up there with G&B. The only OTR jackets that fits me well are Westeds.

The VIP is French cowhide, made from the belly leather of the animal.

I'm glad to see the back panel still doesn't go all the way out. (No- really-less 'fish-gill flying squirell look).
When I talked to Sarge he wasn't sure if this had changd.

I guess USW only has one version of the goat. The cow comes in VIP, distressed (as in the photo above) and now the limited edition CS version.
Believe the goat is the cheapest of the lot, too.
Maybe I'm lucky with the USW fit, which is why I got this goat after the cow had fit so well. I might have looked at a G&B but was so pleased with the first I figured what the heck the USW will probably be fine.
The sleeves are good and not baggy. Then again I'm not a fan of jackets which fit tightly and don't allow me to move freely - at least not in a jacket I plan to be active in. I feel I could wear this over a heavy shirt or even a light sweater and not feel like the Michelin Man. The Wested I had was ok over a t-shirt.
Not having seen a G&B in person, if they are even better in quality then they must be some awesome jackets with some lucky owners out there!
The USW is something I'd have no trouble wearing a bike jacket - I fell it's that substantial.

One thing is for certain, you will never have to replace it because it gave out on you! These Wings jackets are built like tanks!
It looks fantastic!

Thanks guys. I do like it more and more but can only wear if for about a minute at a time becuase it's so hot and muggy here. With a bit of handling I think that "new jacket" shine will come right off. I plan to leave this one kind of wadded on the floor to help it break in a bit.
The GF is 6,000 miles away for another month still and I emailed photos of the jackets. She really likes them but prefers the look of the vintage. What's cool is she might like to wear one as well so I hope the small size would be small enough for her.
Anyway, some info I wanted to pass along as I'd asked a couple questions when ordering. I know people had gotten some imported sale jackets that had two-piece backs and odd sleeves; I asked if the larger sizes still had two piece backs (a seam running up the middle) and was assured that none of their jackets have two piece backs no matter the size or the hide.
I also believe some of their jacktes are made in New Jersey as my cowhide had a Schott tag. I believe the goat was made at a different U.S. plant as it had the regualr USW oval shaped tag. Even so, the specs for both jackets seem nearly identical and I can't see any difference in overall quality.

Definitely made in New Jersey, and a VERY nice 'high end' jacket to be made by Schott! They're famous for their motorcycle jackets, and have been around for decades! I know they've made a few jackets recently for Wings! You really made out like a bandit there!

Super nice goat jacket you got! I seem to be pretty lucky with OTR sizes as well. I got a Wings CE and it fit great. Really well put together as well.
I don't know about the last jacket part though. I originally intended to only get one. Now I have crazy delusions about 1 from each movie.

I hear you. But the only other thing I can think of at the moment would be to find a really cheap Wested or even a Todd's and try my hand at distressing.
But any more jackets won't be Indy style and in fact there probably won't be any jackets for a while because I think I did fine!

Ironically, I bought a Schott G1 flight jacket back in 1989 that was marketed as an Indy jacket...and I didn't know any better at the time. Awesome jacket, outgrew it and let a girlfriend wear it in 1996...never to be seen again! I gotta track her down!

It wouldn't dare. Even if it started out that way, it would have regenerated itself and shown up at your doorstep fully treated with Pecard Leather dressing.
