hi,
got the Fed4 today.
I allready bashed it in the CS style and gave it some dusting with fullers.
I really love the CS style hat...I think it is almost more beautifull then the raiders style
IMO the fed4 is the perfect hat for a AB Crystal skull close enough
the small darker patch under the crease is just water...I need to stiffen the crease up
what do you think

I agree Holt, the CS hat is fast becoming my second favorite one in the series, and is even starting to give Raiders a run for its money.
Very nice hat, wear it in good health. :junior: -M

Holt that fedora really looks cool, after seeing the picture again I do agree its a nice look.

Beautiful hat Indiana Holt!
This may be sacrilege to most members, but I never really liked the tight front pinch on Indy's hat in Raiders . After seeing Crystal Skull , however, I knew I had to get one and, IMO, the Fed IV looks just like the hat Ford wore (minus the dirt, of course).

Just out of interest Holt, what was your hat size. I have a couple of Feds (sizes 54 and 58) and have just ordered the deluxe in a 61. The crown height is slightly different between the 54 and the 58.
This is the 54.
This is the 58

hi.
mine is a 58.
how come you have a 58 and a 54?!?
does the 54 fit at all?
just wondering..
what are the major differences between the crowns? the hight?
how high is the raiders crown suppose to be?

Thought that might be a question
I bought them for my boys who are Indy fans big time. They are almost the same age, however one has a much bigger (or smaller depending on how you view the world!) head than the other.
The 61 is for me
.
In short the standard crown height for a 58 should be around the 5 5/8 inches mark. The 54 is around 5 1/4 and whilst that doesn't sound like a big difference, it does change the asthetics of the hat a huge amount.
Once they are on the respective heads of the wearers, they look smooth. I keep telling my younger son - with the 58 - that it is the best bash I have ever done (that isn't saying much as it is only my third bash!!)
Cheers

ok.cotcha...I was a little worried that you might had that alien head shrinking thing going on like in Men in Black
ok so what is 5 5/8? is that 5.25''?
thanks

That is a good one
I think the decimalisation is 5.625 inches. I prefer centimetres myself being from the antipodes
- that would make it 14.29 cm!!!
