Cracking in Nashville

Post by MacFett »

Are there any other whip crackers / Indy gear fans here in the (general) Nashville area that ever get together.
I'm up here in Clarksville, TN. And, I've seen some others in the area (from location under the Avatars).
Is there ever a gathering place or time to get together?
If not is that something anyone would even be interested in?
Just a thought.

Interesting that you should mention it, I was just talking to Michaelson about a possible Tennessee event someday.
I'm 45 min south of Nashville.
We have several people from this area on the forum.

I was out cracking whips here (near Lewisburg) yesterday.

I know we have several COW members from that part of the U.S.

At one time I think there was a small group of whip enthusiasts who met for monthly whip practices in one of the city parks in Nashville. I haven’t heard anything about them in a couple years though so I have a feeling they have disbanded by now. I’d check on the whipenthusiasts page www.whipenthusiasts.org/ and on the yahoo site on the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WhipEnthusiasts too, to see if there are still any organized practices in that area or if there is any interest in starting them again.

One of our members, who happens to be a very good whip maker as well, used to be located in Nashville. He has since moved back to the North but hopefully he can help with some suggestions when he sees this.

Johnson City for me. I would love to participate in a regional meet. I know this end if the state is near NC, KY, VA and WV (actually all closer than Nashville) maybe put something together for the Southeast.
