My first bullwhip

Post by Jakk55 »

I purchased a Gus Caicedo 8ft, 12 plait cowhide KOTCS style bullwhip.
This is the whip as it was shipped to me:viewtopic.php?t=31516
I decided to "upgrade" it a little by; giving it some Pecards, darkening the knots, and giving it a coat of shellac.

Tell me what you think.

Great looking whip man! I'm no expert on the KOTCS whip but it looks very SA. I have a 8ft. 8plt. whip from Gus and I LOVE it. It's nowhere near as dark as yours; mine has more of a "stay out of the light" look to it. (I can post pics if you want to see it) Gus is a great guy and he does great work. Congratulations on your whip.

Very nice! I have several Caicedo whips. Yours truly looks awesome. How do you like the whip's performance?
