one last bit of help with 80's fit please

My quest to size up my next jacket is almost done.

I'm still not getting any responses from wested, #### those crystal skulls ;)

I'm pretty settled thanks to helpful guys on here, that i'll be wanting a 42-80's in the body of the jacket.

My only worry is the arms. My upper arms might be a problem. My old 38r fits fine around the biceps, but theres not much room for error, if i build up more muscle of fat, it would be a tight squeeze to fit through the hole.

I hear that the armholes on an 80's are smaller, how drastic is the difference?

Cheers
J.

I just measured my 42 R Regular vs my 42 R 80'2 cut. The difference is less drastic than I thought. The armhole opening is an inch smaller, and the bicep is 1 1/2" smaller.
Armhole
Reg 22" diameter
80's 21" diameter
Bicep at similar points on sleeve
Reg 8 3/4" Laying flat
80's 8" laying flat
Hope this helps. Good luck, hope you get what you want :D . Since you are going from a 38 to a 42 maybe you will be OK.

Don't understand the 22" and 21" diameter measurements. Is this armhole-to-armhole meausured flat?

Though I do understand that it takes a lot of iron-pumping to increase one's biceps by 1-1/2" around.

Yarvton - I used a fabric tape measure to actually measure the opening where the sleeve attaches to the body of the jacket. Since your arm had to fit through the liner it may be different from the outside leather measurement. Hopefully that makes sense.
