Who makes the most accurate LC bag strap?

Bags, Boots, Shirts and all other gear should be discussed here.

Who makes the most accurate LC bag strap?

Post by TheMechanic »

Here's a question for everyone, in your opinions, who makes the most accurate 'Last Crusade' bag strap & buckle?

I'm getting another MK VII and I want to do it up LC style.

I haven't spent all that much time looking at the one in the film so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I think Magnoli offers a pretty accurate one. Most vendors seem to just offer Raiders straps but Magnoli offers Raiders straps (medium brown color, edge grooves, and flat buckle) AND, ToD and LC straps (dark brown color, no edge grooves, and roller buckle)

I too am in search fot the LC bagstrrap.
I am in search for that really LC look on the strap.

IMO the strap in LC looks almost black and kinda oily and it almost looks like it doesnt have the raw edge on the backside.
it looks smooth in both back and front.

This strap isn't as easy to come by as the Raiders version is. I know that Magnoli (http://magnolic.ipower.com/catalog/prod ... 8621db7049) offers one but that it's out of stock at the moment. According to their site...
"Both straps are currently out of stock. You may still order this item, and it will ship around the end of July."

I thought that Lee Kepler may offer one as well but I haven't received a response to the e-mail I sent him regarding a LC bag strap yet.

Or if you're willing, you can try to make one. The buckle is the pain to find. My suggestion for it would be to get a 3/4 inch center bar roller buckle (in a silver color) and to remove the prong from it. Then bend the buckle somewhat near the center in order to give it the LC look. Then you'd need the leather strap and two Chicago screws.

It would be a bit of searching to find a leather strap in the length you need. It's supposed to be 20mm (about 3/4") wide and 65" long. Remembering that the ends of the leather strap will be folded over and held closed by Chicago screws (one at each end) I'd recommend a length of about 69" (two inches to fold over on each end). Here's a picture of the buckle on this strap...

I've been looking to add this strap to my MKVII as well and these are the possibilities that I have found so far.

I've been waiting 3 weeks now for my Keppler 'Raiders' bag strap. I know his stuff is great but now that his website pictures don't work anymore I can't see what I'm buying.

Anyone have pics they can share of a Keppler LC strap?

I just got off the phone with him too. He's sending out my Raiders strap soon (fingers crossed) and I will be ordering his LC strap as well.

LC strap has no grooves, just like the Raiders strap and TOD strap did not have grooves. (Regardless of what some people claim). If in doubt about the groove controversy, just ask Lee.

I agree - Lee has done his homework when it comes to what is and is not screen accurate.

1" wide? I thought the LC strap was 20mm (or 3/4") wide.

That's correct, Nassik. The Raiders strap is one inch. The other film straps are 20mm.

I stand corrected. I had no idea it was that thin. Sure doesn't look it. (to me) Thanks.

The strap in my avatar pic for ToD Indy is incorrect. I've yet to begin sourcing a proper 20mm strap. As soon as I get a spare moment i'll begin a proper hunt.

I posted this ages ago for comparison if it helps. :)
