Wested Order Fell Through -- Anybody Else?

Well, on June 6th I ordered my Raiders HH. Included all the requested data, and even e-mailed more detailed measurements from an existing jacket so everything would fit well. I even noted on the order that I was in no hurry, so they could take their time and get it right.

Well, there was no response (other than the initial screen on the website after I sent my order), so I wrote to them asking if they had my order. The response: What is my order number? My reply: I don't know. You never sent one. When did you order it? Response: June 6th.

Nothing more for a week. Then I wrote again, because I had re-sent all my previous e-mails hoping they would generate a response. Again, they want to know my order number. I don't have it, and have no way of getting it.

Finally, I just flat-out asked: Do you have my order? Response from Gemma: We can't seem to find it. You'd better re-order.

I don't know. They seem nice enough, and the HH jacket is a great value, but this wasn't a big confidence builder. I'm wondering if they're simply overwhelmed with work after the release of KotCS. I know how it can get with small companies sometimes.

What say you guys? Should I gve it another shot? Have any of you had a similar problem with "lost" orders?

did your credit card get charged? if not I would say it's just one of those things that happens. I orderd a todds bag on June 10 and still waiting. I would guess because of the release of the movie and new renewed interest in Indiana Jones they are busy. Ive been a fan all my life, yet I just joined this club. so I would give them anothor shot,Ilove my wested jacket. If your card did get charged find out where your order is and send them a copy of the charges. I'm sure they would fix it fast.

Give them a chance

Wested is a great company and Peter does his best to make his customers happy. I visited them last weekend and tried on a few horsehide jackets. They feel indestructable. I´ll probably get one of those towards autumn. I already own a lamb and a goat.

I went to order my second wested. My credit card wasnt charged and after many emails I was told it had even been sent to me, after 9 weeks I withdrew the order with much disappointment. I would have thought by that stage I would have been told sorry but please re-order but what do you do....

Their email communication is often a bit dodgy. I think you are better off calling them.

I agree that email is not the best way to communicate with Wested. When I called, Peter had no problem getting on the phone and talking with me.

Hey Dravot,
Raiders might be the best action movie ever made, but "The Man Who Would be King" is without a doubt the greatest "Adventure" movie ever made. Cheers

Agreed, Adam.... hated the ending, though. I understood why they did it, but still..... :?

webhead73 wrote:Wested seems like a fine jacket but I would never buy one. Too many foul ups by them for me to be a customer. I understand they are working on orders by VERY demanding customers regarding specs and screen accuracy but if Wested is willing to do it, they shoud do it right...the first time. If not, then they should fix it on their dime and not have the customer re-pay for shipping and customs fees. If I am wrong in any of this, please let me know.
Quoted for truth.

Hear hear, Rundquist! If anyone here has never seen THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING, starring Sean Connery & Michael Caine, directed by John Huston, and adapted by Huston & Gladys Hill from the Rudyard Kipling story, you're missing a treat.

That’s three endorsements. Great movie.

For some reason when I think of that film I get a mental image of ZARDOZ and then that gives me a mental image of BORAT.

And then I'm scared and just a little bit nauseated.

Hmmm...I guess I was just lucky? I ordered my custom Raiders jacket from Wested on June 9th, received an e-mail from Gemma confirming my order the next day, and the jacket arrived at my local post office on the 23rd; manufactured and shipped from the UK to Southern California in 14 days. Not bad.
