Rain....why'd it have to be rain?

Well, I'm kind of bummed out at the moment. I'd been wanting to go crack my whip all day but couldn't because I needed to work on stuff to help out with at my church's vacation bible school this week. I finally got done and grabbed my whip to go crack for a little bit and as I walk out the front door I hear it - RAIN. I heard it before I saw it. Then I glanced at the driveway and saw the rain falling on the pavement.... So now I have to wait for the rain to stop and the grass to dry. :( Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain since we've been in a drought for months. But still....

If it's within your budget, you could always get a nylon whip for such occasions - use your leather whip when it's dry. I don't exactly take mine out in the pouring rain to crack it, but the grass is often plenty wet from dew or a rain that just ended.

It is a long standing tradition with me, and this is no joke, for it to rain whenever I get a new whip. This happened in years past, and still occurs to me to this day. Me getting back into cracking....who knows, perhaps I am doing my own bit to help break the drought.
