Hi,
for me it's overhead, but made in terrible way
. Your old way to crack whip is very common, when people don't exsacly know how to throw the whip. I could explain this but I think I simply can't... I should make a video to explain, but I think someone who can speak english better then me, and knows how to cracks the whip, will didn't need a video.
I'm waiting for another answer too
Regards,
Karol

Very nice. I like the second video, especially the first crack that you did behind your back. I went out and tried it and almost nailed it after a few tries. Looks very cool and isn't too difficult.

That is an overhead with a bit of slop...just a little off timing and laziness about it. Not "wrong per se". You are reversing direction...on the diagonal rather than the horizontal plane.
Curse Adams videos!
I was happy with my technique till he started showing us how it should be done. It would've been easier to learn it right in the first place. This unlearning really *** when your muscles have a "memory" of how it should go.
We are very fortunate to have these vids...it wasn't too long ago we were on our own.

For 2 or 3 weeks I would say you are well on your way sir!

Yes - the first video is a late overhead crack. The most widely agreed upon way to perform it is to end with the whip moving away from you, so as not to hit yourself, and also to not aim it into the ground, which is not the best for the whip. Adam's way, and also Anthony D's way (which I do), throw the whip away from you and keep them elevated, so that you can smoothly transition them into another crack, in addition to keeping yourself (and your whip) safe.
I've seen a lot of people do it the way you did in your video, and I think it's just one of the steps people go through with that crack before perfecting it. Good work though, and if you're only cracking for a few weeks so far, I can see you really improving as the weeks go by! Keep it up!

I just realized in that second video , you do an underhand crack the way i used to, with the back of my hand facing OUT...
Lauren and Paul mocked me for doin it, so i changed to the "right" pronation way

At the end of this video of mine (like the last 15 seconds), I do my version of the overhead crack. Just thought I'd share!

Yep, it looks like you're basically doing the overhead cattleman's, but you're changing planes in the middle of the crack which is what's making it look a little funky. Not that it's particularly "wrong" - so long as you're being safe, making the whip crack, not hitting yourself, and not hurting your whip, nothing's "wrong." But I think that even if you still keep doing that crack that way, be sure to also learn/do the proper-form overhead (like in Adam's video) because it's a crack that's needed to start combining cracks and doing other neat stuff like the helicopter.
And Shagbd, how dare you!?!? LOL. :-P I never mocked you about that weird palm-down thing you did/do... I just don't see it very often! For me, the palm-up way is a bit easier to control and combine with other cracks, but hey - like I said, if you're being safe, getting the whip to crack, not hitting yourself, and not hurting the whip, then you must be doing something right. And probably having fun too! ;-)

hahahhaha
...........just checkin to make sure youre paying attention!
Im sorry.... youre right... i should have said "commented on" instead of mocked lol.
I can do a underhand flick like that more positivly than palm up...
My palm up underhand ends up looking more downward diagonal unless i do the "cairo" leg throw... then i fall on my arse...
Lemon, what the heck is a HELICOPTER? make a video! SHOW US!

What whip are you using in that video? Is it an 8 footer?

Man!...you can't even tell it's nylon in the video...I wasn't sure myself.
Looks like it is finally loosening up.
