I don't want to spend more than $200 on a whip.....which is more SA? This whip:

You pay for SA my friend. And for 200 you'll not get very SA I'm afraid.

Why waste $200.00 on either?

If you want a decent whip, wait, save a little more money,
and then contact one of the vendors that can provide value, quality,
and the SA attributes you seem interested in.

Try Adam Winrich if you aren't in too much of a hurry.
He is back to making his 12 plait in cow for COW.
Pretty SA and a darn fine whip to boot. A little more than your budget but not much.
Gus Caicedo @ www.purewhips.com makes a decent fairly sa cowhide as well.

Contrary to popular belief you don't absolutly have to spend $500 for a quality working whip.
If you are less interested in SA
Winrich's IOAB is an excellent choice, as is a nylon from myself, classic bullwhips, indiana_hall or pyramid blaster.

I'd say north of $350 at a minimum. For Roo that is. Nylon is an exellent choice for those looking to spend a bit less, and from the makers on this board it'll give you the consistency needed to become proficient.

I agree. I have one of Gus' 8 ft. 8 plt. cowhide whips and am very pleased with it. It has a very "stay out of the light" look to it, as far as color goes. And you could even get a 12 plt. and it would still be in your budget.

rjallen70 is completely right. I strongly recommend Gus Caicedo for good working whips http://www.purewhips.com/ I have four whips from him and love each of them. I have not had the pleasure to try a Kiscien made whip yet, but his work looks really nice. Also watching his videos I would say he definitely is making quality products. His site is

If SA is not the number one concern I do not think you find a bad review of Adam Winrich's IOAB http://www.winrichwhips.com/. The main problem I have is I want all these whips, but want to stay married too.
