took my wested in, to have sleeves shortend is a week too long to have to wait or is that the standard. it's a repectable tailor not a dry cleaner shop. just wondering?

If the tailor does a good amount of business, that's fairly standard.

I like to search around for the "old school" shops. They usually have folks that have been doing alterations for years, and can do them with their eyes closed.

this guy is old school, I'm not sure where he's from but I got "I fix no problem make it look good yes." He was very busy too lots of stuff hanging up and people knew him by name and he knew the customers too. I just wasn't sure how long talioring takes. didn't want to rush him.

Sounds like you've found your man.
When I had my Wested altered awhile back, it took about 2 weeks. It was summertime, so there was no rush.
Good luck!

hemming sleeves is no biggie. the tricky part is handling the glue on the facing....both taking it apart and putting the shortened length back in. make sure she has good drying time. i wouldn't worry too much.

G has a good point. Make sure the tailor knows NOT to sew the hem on the sleeve but to glue it. I had one sew my sleeve and I was a little peeved!
...oh and a week is standard.
