My Latest Bullwhip...
Here's my most recent bullwhip that I've made:
Above is before shellac and below is after shellacing
This bullwhip is 8 feet long and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
You can see more picture and close ups of the thong and handle on my blog at http://bullwhips.org

I'm glad you read my blog. I started it when I started making bullwhips. It was intended as my personal journal of learning to make bullwhips, so I'm always amazed the people read it...and check for updates!!
Last night I was looking at pictures of my work over the last year and a lot of things have really come together recently and I can see that I'm currently cranking out a pretty decent bullwhip...but I still have a long way to go.

Hi,
I was on your blog to check other photos And I have something to say... it's amazing . It's very nice whip I think. Only the handle looks quiet short, but I think it's only visual mistake . How thick is the handle?
Regards,
Karol

Kiscien,
The handle foundation is 8 inches...and the bullwhip has been shipped to its owner, but if I recall it's about 25ish mm in diameter at the middle of the handle. I modeled the handle's thickness after my Jacka bullwhip.
The handle may look a bit shorter due to how the whip was laid when I photographed it.
buda741,
Glad you like the 10 foot bullwhip!

I'm very happy with it, its exactly what I was after. Louie nailed it. The whip has a real nice backbone to it. I'm a total noob, I did some whipcracking with a snake whip previously but still very novice. I had the whip out yesterday and did some real basic cracks but I'm trying to learn more from the excellent videos posted on this site. I highly recommend Louie's whips !LemonLauren wrote:Looks great Louie ) I'm sure its new owner will be a happy man!

Received an email from Louie this morning. He has finished a 10' natural roo for me and will be shipping shortly. Woo hoo! I hope to post some pictures of it when it arrives. Wasn't expecting it for 3 weeks, however he was able to finish it earlier than he expected. A tip of the Fedora for Louie.

Mark
