Yes, quite interesting. I picked mine up on ebay for a couple of bucks. I think the shipping exceeded the price of the book! A good quick read if you enjoy US social/cultural history and the like.

And actually Jack wore a silk topper at his inauguration. He removed it for his speech. But he actually revived the wearing of the silk topper at State Events.

JFK and the "death" of the fedora

I mentioned that other forum because there were links to articles about JFK and his uneasy relationship with hats.

It's a guess, but JFK probably felt like a "dork" wearing a fedora -- he had a large head and perhaps never found a style that really suited him. Surely the Indy hat is not the best choice for EVERYONE, impossibly-stylish though it may be!
