Howdy,

I'm thinking about ordering a fedora from JPD. Probably a grey fedora bashed like the Venice Pier scene. I thought about a Federation but I think they might be too tall. I'd like to have the hat turned Raiders style. About how much does it need to be turned, 2/3" inch? Or is it something one must do trial and error to get the right look?

You would probably have to do trial and error, since it depends on the the shape of your head. There's a better explanation in this thread.

I'd call Jimmy and ask him about it. When I bought my JPD from him, he was very knowledgeable about the different "indy styles." So I'm sure he could build the turn into the hat...unless you're really looking to do it yourself.

I've been very please with my JPD. It's een in the rain , sin and everything else these past few months in the NW, and I just love it. Touch hat, wears well.
