I've had this whip for a couple of months now, but I haven't had time to post a topic about it. This is one awesome whip! It cracks really easily and is tough as nails. It is a 8 ft, kangaroo hide bullwhip. Thanks Mr. Duke for this awesome piece of art!

I'm not sure what you guys are getting at, that looks similar to the other Robert Duke whips I've seen.

How am I sure? Because I talked to him on the phone about ordering it. That is how I know.

It certainly looks like a Duke whip to me.
I guess art is in the eye of the beholder.

Congrats Indy89 on your whip! I had Robert make my first real whip nearly two years ago, and it's the one that goes with me everywhere--my "workhorse" whip. It has its own special feel that actually makes it a little more accurate and easy to handle than my other two whips, although I absolutely love those, too. He seems to have made the transition a little stiffer on mine, making it more accurate in target practice. Mr. Duke was really a pleasure to deal with, as well.

Enjoy your whip!

Columbiana Jones,

do you have a picture of your Duke whip you can post?

Indy89, do you have photos of the whip in better lighting? Maybe outside or something? Those photos are a bit dark and I'd be curious to see it in better detail.

Yup! I'll post some more pics once I figure out how to replace the fall.

Hi,

Take a new fall and slice it on end of the whip. Cut of old fall. Hole in it should be slit. Then pull off fall, and put there a new one.

Here is video :)

Forgive me quality.

I just changed the fall out. Thanks, Kiscien, for that video! It's easier than it looks

Hi Louiefoxx,

I'd be glad to post a shot of mine--but have not figured out how to do so in the body of the post. Can you teach me how to do that?

Here's Columbiana Jones's Duke bullwhip:

and here's Indy89's:

I think Columbiana Jones said his (the top picture) about 2 years old...it's interesting to see the differences in two bullwhips made by the same maker.

Personally I think Columbiana Jones's looks better (but that's just my opinion).

I just remember mine looking much neater than that. Still, I've owned about 20 different whips (not including those my own whips) from the likes of Strain, Winrich, Bernardo and Morgan since then so maybe my memory is a little coloured.
