Post by jacksdad »

Hi,
been on this site many times finally joined, bought my first Indiana Jones jacket from US WIngs and waiting today to get it, bought a shirt from wings also. Bought a bag from Todds yesterday thanks to this site. Was wondering if anyone else has bought a goat skin jacket recently and how warm are they because I live in Illinois and I want my Indy jacket to be my all around year jacket. let me now and look forward to acquring more stuff, read it's an addiction and I think I've caught it early.

Welcome to the dark side JD!!!

I have a USW goat and yes I wear in the winter. But its still not a year round jacket because it's just too stinking hot in the summer for one!

Unless of course you own a motorcycle. Its the only way you can wear leather in 90 degrees and not look like an idiot!! ;)

I just exchanged a G&B goat for a USW goat and I have to say that I really really love the leather!! Really light weight in comparison to the G&B but very tough. The lining was horrible though... very plastic nylon which was kind of baggy. I'm getting it re-lined now with black heavy duty cotton. I'll post pictures when I get it back.

I have a US Wings goatskin jacket and have found it to be the best all around jacket I have. It seems to insulate well in both hot and cold situations. I've worn mine comfortably in below freezing weather with thermals and a long sleeve shirt underneath, and on some very hot summer days as well. Mine has a cotton lining.

Welcome friend! I can't wait to see what you get and what you do with them.

Cheers!
