MKVII Stupid Question

Post by Herr Doktor »

I just got my MKVII bag (original), and am assuming everyone cut the existing cloth strap off of it...right? :D

Some people don't to preserve it, but that completely defeats the purpose of buying an Indy bag in my mind. Plus, the strap is so short you can't really wear it like that.

Remove the stitches and you could keep it intact.

I just pushed the strap back, and looped on a leather strap, so that now I have the leather strap and cloth strap still attached.

I just cannot bring myself to cutting off something that had held strong for decades... To me it's a historical item, no matter how small. However, for those of you wondering "What Would Indy Do?", I'd say he'd probably cut it... he has no problem destroying historical sites anyway! ;)

I'd hardly consider it a historical item. There were so many thousands of them made that you can still easily find them today.

Cut the #### thing. I've had 6 and I've cut them all. It's never going to be worth anything to anyone except Indy fans. Make it the best replica you can and use the heck out of it.

I cut the stitches on mine so I still have the intact strap but am working on replacing it with a leather one.
