A bit of a problem

I'm looking to order a Fed IV hat, I had my head measured and I fall at about 23 1/4, I'm in between a 59 and a 60, I emailed hatsdirect and they said a 59 would be fine, but don't hats shrink so wouldn't a 60 be better for the long run?

I ordered and just received my Fed IV , size 60, and I wear a size 60. The hat was a little bit big, so I used some of the foam sizing tape that they include with the hat and it fits perfectly now. So, a little big is okay since the hat will conform to your head as it 'settles in.' I'll take out the foam if mine shrinks at all, which it shouldn't do much. Hope this helps!

I fell in between a 62 and 63, 62.5 to be exact. I emailed hatsdirect and they told me to order a 63. But they told me to specify a small 63 in the comment box when I place my order. Maybe you can get a small 60.

Based on my experience with the older Feds, and comments I've read about the 4's, I think a 59 will be fine. The Federation will shrink, but it tends to do it in a "conform to your head" kind of way. Mine actually didn't shrink, it just reshaped itself to my heads dimensions.

Mine shrunk a little over the 2 weeks I've had it. I'm almost to the point where I can take out the little piece of foam I put in the back.
