Just ordered an TN Indy IV jacket

This might be better suited for an existing thread, but I just ordered a Tony Nowak Indy IV jacket and I have to tell you, Tony is the greatest. He has spoken to me on the phone a couple of times and is always so friendly and helpful. He seems to really want to please the Indy fans. I didn't have any special requests, just ordered the Harrison Ford model since it turns out I am very similar in measurements. Tony told me 12 days from order to my hands. So I will have to check back with all in 2 weeks to let you know the end result.

Tony is the man!

Cheers,

Something to add...

Tony did ask me if I wanted distressed or lightly distressed. Also, I was able to get the number #288/777 and the stitching on the inside will be black on black. But this was something I added... at the bottom of his I asked for him to put "Fortune and Glory". Thought it would add something to it. Hopefully it will turn out. Tony is really learning what COW guys like, he offers a ton of info and takes ideas. He really wants this to be the last jacket you ever buy.

Cheers,

As a proud owner of the TN, I can tell you, you will love it. I'm actually going to get another one. Mine is a touch snug.

Indiana G,
I will see what I can do. Right now I just have an LC Wested and a Magnoli HJ. But in addition to the Tony Nowak jacket, I also have a Keppler fedora coming as well.

Pic to be forthcoming when the gear arrives. :D

Slydini-
ANy photos of your TN out there?

There's another person thinking about getting a 2nd TN. I love mine so much I have been on the fence about getting a second one as well.

If your on the fence, I'd say jump. I know 777 is alot, but we have no idea how many have been sold.
I would hate to think, "coulda, Shoulda, woulda."

Someone recently posted their "black on black" inscription. Very subtle.

What color did Kryptonite use for his inscription? Was it gold? It was very prominent, I thought. I think I'd like mine to be a bit subtle but I don't really want it to be "hard to read" either. I'm torn. :)

Looking at his pics, it looks like either Gold or Yellow. As far as I know, that's TN's default color. I'm getting mine in that color, mainly because it doesn't bother me a lot (especially since I requested a short inscription) and I'd like to be able to read it / show off easily. :P Also, the INDY IV part looks nice, and you couldn't see it easily in black. The black is a nice idea, though.

I just hope I get my jacket soon. Two weeks now... All this waiting is killing me! :(

I GIVE UP!

How do you order a Tony Nowak jacket? Certainly not off of his website. Neither his e-mail or order form come up off the website, so someone please tell me how to order.

Many Thanks
Randall

I also just ordered my jacket from Tony earlier this week.

I got #004. Tony was absolutely Great to deal with - what a gentleman and a true craftsman. Mine will be coming with lighter distressing.

Cant wait to get it.

Agreed! Tony really is a gentleman and wants this customers to have a superior product. I took possession of my jacket last Thursday and two days ago, he phoned me to ask how I was enjoying my jacket.

I remember being just as jazzed about my first Indy jacket, a Cooper Sportswear that I bought back in 1989, just before Last Crusade was released.

I asked Tony for the lowest number I could get and he gave me number 103 weeks ago. Oh well, I wanted the number he wanted to assign, and I guess I got it.

He also called me twice on the day my jacket arrived to see how I liked it.

Just received my Tony Nowak Jacket yesterday. Number 288. This is a beautiful jacket. It fits much better than my LC Wested. My Wested is too short under the arms so it rides up when I raise my arms just a litte. Tony's is perfect on length all over. Plus the heavier leather means I can actually wear it during the colder weather.
Tony is a dream vendor to work with. Always friendly, quick to respond, asks questions and even offers solutions. He told me 12 days from order to in my hands and it was exactly that. He even called me on the day of deliver to confirm the shipping info and let me know it was headed my way.
I had the following stitching in black on black in my jacket:

Authentic Indy IV
Limited Edition Jacket
Custom Made for

L.E. #088/777
by Tony Nowak
'Fortune and Glory'

Everyting was perfect. This hobby is crazy, in less than a year I went from no gear to a Magnoli HJ, an LC Wested, a TN KOTCS jacket and I have a Keppler on the way.
gotta love it.

Cheers,
OWJ88

Sounds like some awesome jackets!

Do you guys mind me asking the price? If they are as good as they look, I might have to consider one and have it to spend right now.

Raider S-

THe cost is $675 + shipping. It is pricey, but well worth it. It is a piece of gear you can show off forever.

For a quality item that's handmade, that's a very fair price! Considering how everyone raves about Tony's attention to his customers, that's a big selling point.

Is this something you guys will wear or is it mostly to collect? I want something that I can wear and not feel upset about it.

I bought mine to wear. Collecting is fine, but I don't buy gear to look at it, I like to wear mine.

You'll definitely be able to wear this without worrying about it.

In fact, the way Tony Nowak talks on the phone....I get the impression that -- if he ever found out that you weren't wearing it -- he'd personally fly out to your house, take the jacket from your closet and say, "What did I tell you? I told you to wear it and beat the **** out of it! Not hang it in your closet!"

LOL

Seriously -- EVERY time I've talked to Tony (without exception), he's told me, "This jacket is not for the closet. It's for you to wear. I want you to beat the **** out of it. This thing is going to look better and better the more you wear it."

I think he means it. LOL

I am in agreement there. He loves fans and collectors, but he wants people to wear his product. He has so much enthusiasm for his craft, it is contagious. Tony will not catch me without mine, at least when the weather is below 60.

I wore mine into the office this morning. Drove in with the windows down (although I do that normally too), and it was already 80ish out at 7:30. :D

Summer in San Diego? Nuts to that - I've got a new jacket! lol

I sat on the couch in mine last night at home with the AC on. Didn't know when I would get to wear it again. My wife came down and smiled and said. "Nice jacket."

Let me get this straight . . . you've got the AC in your house down low so that you can wear your TN jacket? That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. :-

I wore mine at home as well, with the AC on. Of course, I'd have had the AC on anyway, since it was almost 100 outside when I got home at 5:30. <sigh> But I just couldn't let this beautiful jacket sit in the bag!

Chewie,
What I meant was that I had the air on, and I wore the jacket. It's not so cold I needed to wear a jacket.

Cold or not there is certainly a need to wear that TN when it arrives... a need that outside of here people would think you crazy for having.

Tony sounds like the kind of guy who'll work with you to get the fit right.. why buy another one? For that kind of money the fit should be dead on (unless you measured wrong I guess).

I've read all over the site about how tough Tony's jackets are.. and I've handled Mutt's jacket personally so I know it to be true.. I'm just not sure why so many people want to buy a second? You guys have a jacket there that will last you a lifetime. Won't having two nearly identical jackets in the closet take something away from having that one, beloved, trusty ol' leather jacket? I'm not getting down on anyone here.. I'm just curious. I have my good ol' custom made moto jacket in my closet and just can't see having another just like it next to it.
