I traded my old US Wings Goatskin to Tollan for his size 40 G&B Goat and it's a perfect fit! The sleeves are definitely long, but a trip to the tailor should fix that in no time...It's like 4 years old and it feels like a new jacket...without the stiffness...Tell me what you guys think! Thanks Tollan for an amazing jacket!!! I hope you enjoy my old friend as well!
I'm pretty pumped about it..I can't wait to see your pics Tollan

That is indeed a nice jacket. However, in my opinion, it looks too big on you. It's not just the sleeves being too long, but the shoulders are just too wide. Can you post a few more pics where we can see your hands and one with the jacket zipped as well?

Sure thing. Always lookin for excuses to post more pics
Do you really think the shoulders look too big? Maybe it's because I have the straps pulled too tight in the back? What do you guys think? Thanks for the input fellas!

Nice jacket but it seems the pockets are a little too big. Is the jacket distressed in any way?....hard to tell from the pics.

No distressing except the natural wear and tear my good buddy Tollan did to it traveling the world over the last 4 years...Do you think the pockets are too wide or too long? Either way, I LOVE IT!

Great jacket! Too big in the shoulders you say? Nothing that going to the gym and hitting the iron wouldn't fix.

I think it fits well - like in the film.
I love my G&B too.
Your pockets seem larger than mine and mine is a 42T. Still, it's great and how about that workmanship? Can't imagine a better built jacket.

I ordered my G&B goat this week. They said it would be about 3 weeks... waiting is ba-a-a-a-a-a-ad. (Get it? Goat? Baaaaa? Nevermind).

That's all that matters. Anyway, these are much better pics and I would say that the jacket appears just a smidge big in the shoulders and sleeves. Not nearly as bad as I thought at first. My attention is drawn to the shoulder stitching, (where the sleeves meet the jacket). It "appears" to hang just a tad low on your deltoids instead of closer to the top of your shoulders.
Maybe this pic might help.
Regardless, it doesn't look bad on you and it's a great looking jacket.

They told me 3 weeks to Australia but it came in a week. How's that!!!

Hey Z,
So glad you like the jacket! As you say... it's all natural distressing! I actually don't think it looks too big, especially when you consider how snug it is when it's zipped up. It's a 40R with an inch added to the sleeves which I originally bought from another member here 5 years ago and it was in brand new condition when I got it. I miss it already and am considering getting another one. I'm still waiting for the USW goat to arrive.... *is impatient*
Wested Visit

Hi Folks,
Getting rather psyched up for my Wested visit today. My expectations are sort of running high so I need to keep that in check. I´m hoping to find my ideal jacket, something that fits great, that will be durable, and that when I put it on it makes me "feel" adventurous and ready for anything. I´m pretty luck, really. I remember back in Chicago several years ago pondering the Wested website, the jackets, and thinking that I didn´t want to go through the hassle of ording one, finding out it doesn´t fit, returning it, and all that time/money wasted. So now it´s nice to be able to go there in person and try a number of them out. I´ll be meeting up with another COW member too which will be nice. Will report back findings later. Cheers!

Take a look at this photo and where the shoulder seem falls on Ford...Mine doesn't seem that far off...

I think when I get the sleeves shortened, it will give a more SA look as well with not as much large wrinkles in the arms and upper shoulder section of the jacket.

Looks fantastic! It is NOT too big (in my opinion
. ) You are wearing a thin t-shirt. If you need to put on a layer or 2 you will be great. I have a G & B 42R that is just a tad tight in the shoulders and it is annoying as all heck
Wish I had gone up a size instead of suit jacket size.
In your case...you got it right. That's a keeper!

The shoulders don't square up like an A-2 jacket, but I think that if you
went down a size to get the shoulders to be an inch narrower, the rest
of the jacket would not fit you as nice.
You just have slightly narrower shoulders than what most places that
make clothing would consider "average".
I can relate in my own way with sleeves.
My arms are about an inch shorter than "average", and every single piece
of clothing I get, from shirts to jackets, all have sleeves that are just a
wee bit too long for me.
So for jackets, I always have to get them taken up an inch or so.
But, otherwise, the jacket is a good fit for you, especially since you are
only wearing a thin tee-shirt under it.
By the time you add a sweatshirt, or a dress type shirt with a tee-shirt
under it, it will fit perfect once you get the sleeves shortened.

I'm with Tony, a bit wrinkly in the sleeves and somewhat snug around the body. Certainly not baggy.

The first thing I noticed was how it fit you in the shoulders. I also think it's a tad big there, and the overall length of the jacket appears longer (since it is a Raiders jacket, not ToD). I love the Raiders jacket myself but I prefer a little more length too, so I don't think the additional length is an issue.
But the most important thing is that YOU like the jacket, and that YOU are comfortable with it. And, let's face it, you can put on a sweatshirt and still wear your jacket...Indy could not. Just look at him when he enters the Raven bar.
I used to own a goatskin G & B for some time and it's a great jacket. If I recall, Mr. Kepler called his "bulletproof." Although I now wear a cowhide G & B, and I must say that, although the hide's toughness has something to do with it, it's the quality of the G&B Expedition jacket that also lets you know that it looks great and it's tough as nails. It looks good on you and it should serve you well for lifetime!
Cheers,
Joe

Totally! That jacket has been well worn and still has sooooo many years of life left in it! The leather has thus relaxed quite a bit over time, which is natural. The jacket Ford wears in Raiders was brand new. I've seen so many other jackets here that don't really fit the person on this site but with few comments about the way it fits so I'm not sure why it's got so many comments. Personally I think it looks fine! I had no idea how big Z was when I sent it but he was happy the the measurements, except the sleeve length which can be easily and cheaply altered. The G&B jacket is one of the best I have ever worn/owned and as you say will serve anyone for a lifetime.
Enjoy the jacket Z! I know the jacket will enjoy you!

In my opinion, the more I put on this jacket, the more amazing it feels and looks to me. I think the "baggy" look in Raiders you guys are talking about is because the jacket definitely isn't tight...even though it fits Ford snuggly, it is still full of wrinkles of leather in every scene! If it were entirely snug, the wrinkles would pull out with the tension. IMO, the G&B (at least this one) is the perfect balance of SA and actual Indy toughness and durability! Thanks for working in this jacket for me Tollan...you have no idea how grateful I am to be given such an opportunity!

It's my pleasure! That jacket's seen quite a bit of action... and still doesn't look too old! Testament to G&B quality! And I can't wait to pick up the USW at the weekend as well! Did you get the "Secret of the Incas" DVD? Did it work? You may have to copy the "video_TS" file on to a disc on it's own for it to work. I messed up a bit with the copy... it's a file within a file on the disc. It should be region free... I'm not sure though.

Also sent in a PM to Laoche:
Is this goat G&B, using their current terminology on their website, the "dark seal" brown, or the lighter colored "regular" seal brown?
The first picture seems much lighter than the second...maybe its me.
On the G&B website they list only the dark seal as an option, but I spoke with them and they said that the "regular" seal brown (milk chocolate color) was also available upon request.

That's the standard dark brown. The colour difference is probably due to the flash. I heard that they charge an extra $20 if you want seal brown.

Doesn't look baggy AT ALL!
Man are there some buzz-kills around. That thing is right in step with current fashion - we don't wear skin tight leather these days. And every person is built a little different, too. I think if you loosen the side straps a tiny bit that might help even everything out perfectly.
You enjoy that jacket for a long time to come.
