Hello All!
Sorry if this has been discussed before but is there a nylon fall out there for leather whips? Either we over condition, under condition the fall, crack too hard, and/or just plain o' wear or tear. I'm just getting tired of the fall falling apart. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
Best Regards,
Jun

Mr. Jun,
You shouldn't be replacing falls that often. I suspect you are probably letting it dry out too much. I always Pecard the fall before cracking and after I finish.
I have never heard of Nylon falls, though. But the red hide or white hide falls really should give you a long wear life.
Take Care, buddy.

Leonard Wheatly used nylon falls on his leather whips when he was still making them. The fall was sort of like a giant popper. It was a thick piece of nylon that was twisted like a popper and then tied off at the end with one piece of the nylon left hanging like a popper. I threw one of his whips a couple of years back, and that nylon fall worked as well as any leather one I've used. I've been meaning to try it myself but it keeps slipping my mind.

Thanks for the info guys! Nice to know there were nylon falls out there. Jim, how did the nylon hold up compared to the leather falls? Well Sergei, I'll take your advice and keep on Pecarding the falls. I wish I can be you. If I lose a popper or damage a fall, I can just get another whip! BWAA! Kidding my friend! Hope to hook up with you before the QM summit!
