I have a brown bullwhip with some scratches. Can I buy a brown colored leather cream to make it look newer ? Is there something like that ?

I couldn't think of a specific product, but would putting a small amount of brown shoe polish on the scratches work? Many pair of brown shoes are leather so I am assuming you can find a polish that is fine to apply on a leather whip. How big are the scratches? I don't know if it would bother me very much unless they are huge cause I want my whip to look like it has be through "adventures" not just having been hung on the wall its entire life. Also you may be able to find a brown Sharpie marker that will cover a small nic or scratch. I think the shoe polish would be your best bet though. Hope that helped.

I'm with brady on the shoe polish thing, but don't just get shoe polish. Get a scuff cover. It's basically a little bottle of shoe polish, but it has a sponge end for applying it in small ammounts for scuffs and scratches. But I'm not a whip expert, so you'd probably want to get an opinion from somebody who knows alot about whips.

OK, let me blunt, shoe polish no! Try Pecards first. I have put Pecards on my Aldens after they went through some very rough scrambling through boulders. The Pecards made all the scuffs and abrasion marks disappear.

Don't forget that Pecards makes a product that conditions and has brown coloring in it.

well, I tried it with pecard and it looked good. But 2 days later it looks totally scratched again.

Just curious, where are the scratches?

p.s. Whips get scratched, it's life. Coloring the whip with shoe polish, is just a cover up. The Pecards actually will seal up the wound and prevent further wetness creeping into the leather. Shoe polish will not accomplish this.

Heck, Michaelson has said it so many times, he loses track on exactly where he's done it. Yep, I'd recommend either standard dressing, or if really deep, the new brown dressing. Regards. Michaelson

I too had this problem when my nephew decided to have a go at my Strain in his driveway. Needless to say, cement and kangaroo don't mix. However, with a little saddle soap (to clean off the dirt and dust) and a littlle Pecards, it was right as rain again. Go easy on the Pecards ... but really ... that's all you need. I still see the little scratches and a nick but I have to look real close. The Pecards darkens it and blends it in.

Ouch, you have to watch the young onse. Yes I have noticed that to, it just adds to Michaelson's charm I guess, lol.

Sergei: the scratches are everywhere. I was so "stupid" to crack the whip on a rainy day on a street a year ago. I need pecard with brown color. Hope I can get some in Germany.

They're just picking on me because I'd probably even use Pecards as a moustache wax if it were a bit thicker, but haven't chimed in with my usual ramble about it's wonderful properties. I sold my whip today at ebay for 75 $. Its not a bad price for my old whip.
The bidder had no problems with the scratches. Thanks for your help out there anyway ;-)
