It used to be the headpiece to the staff of Ra, but now it's a meso american pyramid, much like the one we saw in KotCS.

AB will continue to use the Staff of Ra liners until they run out. Then they will go to the new design.

Ooh that's the one I want.

So they actually had their "Adventurebilt" logo in the new movie?

I think he was speaking in reference to the temple at Akator. It is that same style pyramid. The film liners were plain white, though in the final scene it definately looked gold. I honestly hope I recieve the Staff of Ra liner. I love the new logo, but love the thought of having the original logo. But, I ordered in March so I will probably recieve the pyramid logo. Doesn't really matter...at least I will have the hat!

The liners in the film hats had nothing on them. They were white, but heavily aged.

I thought they look yellow-ish....I guess that's aged white.

As far as I can tell, the pyramid the new AB logo is based in is the Chichen Itza (Mexico) main pyramid:

I would prefer the white liner in my Fed 1V to be the same brownish/khaki colour as the liner in the film. What dye was used and how should it be applied?

from what ive heard (dont take this as a guarantee) they used a light brown hair dye watered down and lightly sponged on apparently the satin gave a shinny look to it which created th ilusion of gold linner that we see on screen

As far as I know, there was no logo on the liner in the film hats.

I beg to differ - in the rocket-sled scene, you can clearly see the Asdventurbilt gold script on the sweatband

Agreed - there was a logo of some kind I just could not quite make it out.

Pretty sure it didn't come from the lead actor's head.

THIS IS AN ANNOUCEMENT FOR STEVE AND MARC PLEASE SETTLE THIS :D

im sure you guys are right about the sweat brand i have just re-read the email i have from a guy who worked on the movie in the wardrobe dept he said
"the hats are amazing better than the one we had shipped over from the last film they are unbranded but with white linners these have been spounge dyed for effect a few hats have been claimed by staff my head size is the same as fords so im claiming one and i will give you first refusal if i manage to get 2 i wont be in the uk until july but by then i should have been intouch about the hat cheers chris and thanks for your help"
im not sure which hat he was refering to but apparently there was an old indy hat floating about im still praying he comes up with a screen used ab for me even though it wont fit what an honour it would be to own

To settle this. The liners were plain, unmarked. Western Costume toned down the white, as Bernie said the bright white might present problems when filmed. They did in fact use hair color to darken the liners.

The sweatbands were marked. Some were from Marc, some were from me.

We were told that no crest needed to be on the liner, because it would have to be researched by the legal team, prior to them using it, for obvious reasons. So, Bernie told us just to use plain ones. What we were using the Headpiece, an infringement, so of course that one was a no go from the start. But, Bernie got a huge kick out of us using that one. His words were, "no, we sure can't use that!" or something to that effect.

I sold a hat to one of the crew, and he found out about us from our name being on the sweatband, so it was there.
