G&B fans - how does the lining wear?

Not sure about the lining. It's all shiny and thin and nylon. Does it wear ok?

The nylon makes the jacket feel wonderful. I forget the name of the lining (something twil), but it's like a combintion of cotton and nylon. The look smooth on/off of nylon, but breathes better than cotton.

EDIT: I just re-read another post of yours and it looks like you are an owner of a G&B. Does that mean you want to know how it ages? If that's the question, then it's stronger than both nylon and cotton. I've had one for more than a year on everyday use and no signs of tearing and still looks as good as new.

From all reports over the years, the G&B's textured polyester twill lining has been the best over all in terms of holding up to wear and tear.

It has been posted many times that folks wished other jacket makers would follow suit and use the exact same material.

M- I guess the issue with a poly lining would be is it hotter than a cotton-only, and if so, by how much?

I guess this is a trade-off for people to consider along with the vendors, as for me, I would trade longevity for the comfort of a 100% cotton lining.

I didn't find mine any hotter than a cotton lining when I owned one (I kind of 'outgrew' the jacket, dang it!

). I believe the fact it's a twill allows more air to pass through.

The polyester twill that they use actually wears much better than cotton. It's the same stuff that they use in their G-1. It breathes great too. It’s great stuff.

I have 3 of their jackets,the oldest from 85 to present and that lining is like new.....if anything its softened. Wear it with no worries.

9 mos and no problems at all. Nota, nothing. My Wested, however, frayed in the sleeves and wore a hole in the cotton by the 6 mo mark.

Is is correct to say that polyester breathes? I understood that polyester DOESN'T breathe. Have I been misinformed?

This particular lining does breathe. I'm not sure what the blend is, but it's definitely different in comparison to others I've dealt with.
