Proper care of a Dorfman Pacifc

I went to a basewide BBQ here at the Air Force Base today. They had a dunk tank, and the volunteer to be dunked was wearing an official Indy hat (looked to be wool). I can't think of a better hat to wear for such an occasion. As I passed by it, wearing my AB, I thought "there's no way I'd ever do that in THIS hat".

Yours has a better chance of coming out looking good.

if anything, you're AB could probably take the pounding of a dunk tank and still look cool. But i see your point. I wouldn't let my hat go near a dunk tank if I had an AB.

Hey,
I did it back in the 90's the year before I got my Herbert Johnson! It makes a very satisfying
Whoosh! when the flames engulf it, so stay back a couple feet.

I can't take fire to my DP. I have two, one I had when I was a little boy and one I bought a few months ago to hold me off until my Keppler arrived. My first one no longer fits (obviously, so now my brother wears it) but has held together quite well. The color on the new DP has already started to fade where I grab it by. I have no attachment to that one, but the other is a symbol of my childhood.

I won't set my DP hat on fire. I got my DP in my freshman year of highschool and now let my son play with and wear it as I patiently await my Fed IV to arrive.

I think I've lost mine. I thought I found it yesterday but it just turned out to be a close-enough (in DP terms, not SA terms). Oh well, I anticipate my getting a Mag. HJ before the year is over.
