My Gear, and story...

This picture is what I looked like, fresh from the KotCS premier.

Hat -- Akubra Federation III
Jacket -- Todds Standard, XL
Shirt -- Cabela's Safari shirt, Stone
Pants -- LL Bean dress chinos, dark khaki
Shoes -- Alden's 405s
Socks -- Random black socks
Belt -- Web belt from Todds
Gunbelt -- Regular gunbelt from Todds
Holster -- Regular holster from Todds
Bag Strap -- Deluxe bag strap from Todds
Bag -- Genuine MKVII from Endicotts
Whip -- 8ft 8 plait from purewhips.com
Whip holder -- custom

In addition to assembling the gear over the last few months, I was inspired to try and get in better shape for the costume. I have lost 20lbs since January.

Over the last few months, I slowly started rotating gear into my everyday clothes a piece or two at a time to break it in without showing my hand. When today finally arrived and I went around in full gear, people were surprised to realize that they'd seen almost all of my costume already.

For the premier, I organized the outing for myself and about a dozen friends, making sure everyone had the link for the tickets, had rides to the theater, and had updates about when the theater would let us in. I also sculpted a tiny and highly inaccurate crystal skull from sculpey which I molded and cast in clear resin to give to people to commemorate the event.

I started into this adventure because I saw a picture of someone wearing their gear on another forum and said to myself, "I could do that!" Over the last few months, I have carefully executed a plan that culminated in this night.

KotCS has left me with mixed feelings, to say the least, but I am proud of the gear and the crew that I assembled to see it.

This forum was an indispensable source of information. Thank you to everyone who helped me get this far.

Best part of your impression! The best thing you can incorporate into your everday life. Congrats and keep it up (or off?!)
