Has anyone seen a hat rack for a car seat?
I remember years ago seeing Maryland State Police cruisers having a metal hat rack mounted over the passenger seat headrest. It was a sort of chromed steel U-shaped frame that allowed the brim through but caught the crown accross the band so the hat was sitting crown forward against the front of the upright part of the passsenger seat. I have done a little searching on police supply web-sites; but, have turned up nothing. Maybe there is something for cowboy hats in pickup trucks?
Anyone ever seen something like this?

That's interesting. I haven't seen anything quite like that. It would be nifty to have one. The only thing comparable that I have seen is the spring-loaded cowboy hat holders that mount to the roof of the cab, and hold the hat brim up. However, I haven't seen one of these in a long time. It's not quite as easy to mount things to the roof of a car as it used to be.

I actually had a car hat-rack once...It was a spring-loaded affair that basically bolted into the upper sill trim, typically over the rear passenger door. It was like a wire loop that you could pull down, put the hat in crown-down, and it would spring back to rest against the headliner. Worked OK. I'd also say to try western stores on this one. That's the only kind I've ever seen.
