The federation dimensional cut?

Post by Indiana Strones »

Not long after the release of the Federation, the Federation Deluxe made it's appearance which used an upgrade of Heritage Quality felt, the finest made by Akubra. Both versions of the Federation come in unfinished condition, meaning that you will have to do your own shaping and brim cutting if you want a dimensional cut to achieve the desired look.
I read this in the new IndyGear site (vendor section). I have both Fed III and IV, and both have the dimensional cut (I think). Is this a mistake or what?

The original Feds did NOT come dimensionally cut.

The first version that came that was. was the standard Fed in the second run, and immediately after that the Deluxe.

The first models even came with a red lining instead of the now familiar white!

So, your Fed III AND IV would be dimensionally cut, but it wasn't until the Fed II that that happened, and you DID have to do your own trimming.
