How it's supposed to be?

Post by Thousand Truths »

Okay well I got my AB a couple days ago and noticed that one of the sides of the bash is not bashed as "deep" as the other. Here are some pics, the side I'm talking about is on the right side as you can see the left is more deep than the right. The style I got was Idol Grab Bash, is this how it's supposed to be? And if not how can I fix it so that they both are similar?

Yes, that is how it is supposed to be. Steve said something not too long ago about the right side not being as deep as the left because of the turn. I can't remember why, but he said that both sides cannot be equally deep. I would leave it alone.

I'd be more concerned about the almost complete lack of a top dent than what you've got on the sides.

I'm assuming that Steve pre-creased this hat for you. It looks like much of that creasing job popped itself out during shipping.

Yeah, I'd fiddle around with it to try and make the top dent more pronounced. Not necessarily deeper, just more pronounced. :junior: -M

actually, looking again, I have to say I'd deepen it as well. Basically, I'd just give it some steam and then use my hand to gently deepen the crease. It might also help to hold it by the pinch for A LITTLE while, so that it'll bring the top dent forward so it meets the pinch. :junior: -M

Alright I sent an email to Steve about it to see what he has to say but I'll probably do some light stuff like that.

don't use some steam. Just grab it with you hands and crease it after a few times it will hold.

Yea I fooled with it a little bit and it's working, I'll do more tomorrow but yea just shaping it with my hands seems to work.

I know. Is it a 7 3/8ths? If so, send it to me and I'll fix it - wahahahaha!!!

I would concur- either gently work it back and then repeat a couple of times or lightly spritz it with water/mist and gently put it where you want it- I seriously doubt it is anything but jostling in the box (I've taken them out of the box here at home and had to adjust them slightly- much less after shipping!). The hat looks great and you are very lucky (from one who is in line). :notworthy:
