my new Magnoli HJ! =)

Post by mercat »

Well after eight or so years with a DP, I made the jump and bought a Magnoli HJ. I thought it wouldn't come until June, but while I was away at school my mom texted me that the box had arrived! I just got home last weekend and was very excited. The top had popped in just a tad (I think it got bumped a little bit in the box) but that was an easy fix. Otherwise... I love it!

So, without further ado, here are some pics!
(Sorry about the awkwardness of the photos. My timer has been acting up and I had to take these in the mirror. So if they look backwards, that's why!)

From the front:

From one side:

From the other side:

A shot I like, has a good swooooopy feel:

And from the back (a bad shot, I know):

And finally, just for fun, my collection of Indy hats:

Looks great. Like the purple one. Instead of Indiana Jones, I immediately thought of Velvet Jones (Eddie Murphy). lol

Congratulations and great pictures!

You'll love the Magnoli HJ. Mine gets better every day. Magnoli has the magic touch.

Enjoy!

Maybe it's the angle, but your Magnoli HJ seems to have an excellent degree (if degrees can be excellent) of reverse taper, something my Magnoli HJ sadly lacks! What a fine looking hat, mercat. Fantastic! Enjoy. =)

The Magnoli HJ is the finest Raiders replica ever produced, in my opinion. I love mine. Great pictures!

It might just be the bash of your hat. I find my MHJ is effected profoundly when I play with the bash. Much like the real Raiders hat, it does some unexpected stuff.

Mercat, great lid. And just in time for the big event! So, um... how much for the purple one?

Congrats on the lid. I lived with a DP for years myself before getting an AB and man was it worth it. I'm sure you feel the same about your new lid. Glad you got it in time for the premier. Enjoy!

mercat, nice looking hat, I have a Magnoli HJ and I absolutely love it. :D Steve did put the Magic touch on that hat. He seems to be turning out hats pretty good now, seen a few Magnoli HJ's in the past few weeks. All have looked just awesome. Again a great hat and wear that one well.

Nice, "Mushroom," to the hat, especially from the back.

Well we know Steve's work seems like magic, but it's pure skill and determination.

Magnoli on the other hand has a knack for providing such a broad range of fantastic products that I suspect some sorcery is involved!

Well, with Magnoli in Middle Earth, no one knows what really goes on down there, do they?

Awesome hat. I really want one. And then after I get an HJ, I eventually want an AB. But nice hat, I'm very jealous...

None in particular. Raiders has always been my favorite movie of the three (soon to be four... we're so close!), but I hadn't been keeping up with the hat section here for years, and I felt like I didn't really know enough to make an accurate decision. I just threw luck to the winds... From what I can tell it's all Raiders, though, and I love it!

If you want to see any details or anything I can try my best to get some good shots. E];D

I couldn't agree more. The floppy rabbit felt, coupled with Steve's flawless attention to detail make this a must have hat for any fan of the hat in Raiders of the Lost Ark. There's just something about it that screams Raiders, and Mercat...yours is awesome! I hope you enjoy it for years to come. Also, you should update this topic from time to time with a pic or two. A few of us are trying to see how these IM/AB/HJ's age with time and use. We all know that a standard HJ Poet is weak, and the AB is as tough as nails, but we'd like to see how this "offspring" of both does with some time. I betting it got more good genes from Steve than bad ones from old Herbert Johnson.

If you want any particular shots, just let me know! I'm happy to oblige. =) I'll definitely try to get some up with wear, but just so you know I'll probably be super-gentle on it when it comes to wear and tear. I'm pretty paranoid about caring for my stuff sometimes! =P Especially something as awesome as this hat.

Magnoli

Post by Indycrazy5187 »

i'm probably going to be ordering one soon. Like i've said on many forums. It was between Magnoli and AB. Mag won due to wait time. Indy told me it takes a month to ship. that's well worth the wait
