Magnoli MK VII Bag - finally arrived

After 2 weeks of waiting my Magnoli MK VII bag finaly arrived. I guess it would have been here much sooner if that snails at customs wouldn't have laid there slow working grubby little hands on it.

It looks great to me (yeah I know not greenish enough to be SA), wears well and can pack most of the stuff I need when I go outside.

The only downside is that the Magnoli bag-strap is only 65" and there are non available from Indy that are 72" with the result that the strap-bugle is somewhere in the high of my navel instead on my chest while wearing the bag. :( You hear me Indy Magnoli? I demand a 72" bag strap!!! ;)

Here are a few pictures:

I think you can roll the buckle up... or do you mean that if you do that, it doesn't fit correctly?

What date did you order the bag on? I ordered on May 9th. I'm hoping it arrives in time, but I can only blame myself for waiting so long.

Exactly, to make it fit correctly I have to roll the buckle down to make the strap longer with the effect that it sits navel high (and hidden under my jacket) instead in my chest area. :( I'm 1,86m tall (a little more than 6' 2") and the bag would fit very unnaturally and not very Indy stile otherwhise.

I ordered on the 1st of May but german costums is #### and to name them snails is flattering at best. Indy shiped my bag out emediatly, if he did the same with yours I guess your chances are good that you get it in time. :)

Give Lee Keppler a call. He makes 72" straps.

Todd makes a another fine 72” strap:

The 9th was a Saturday, if I recall. He shipped on Monday, so he shipped as soon as he could. I'm praying it arrives by the 21st [-o< .

I know but it scares me a bit that the international shiping costs charged for the strap is alsmost as expensive as the strap itself. But I guess I'll have to swallow that bitter pill if I want it to look right. :?

I'm 6'4", so a even a 72" strap is too short for me in order to make the bag hang where I want it with the buckle centered. If you have a leather shop nearby, or even one on-line in Germany I'm sure you could get one that is of perfect length a bit cheaper. I custom ordered mine, no problem.

In my opinion the strap is one of those things you could really make yourself as long as you have a buckle that you're happy with.

If you don't like what Todd charges for shipping, then why don't you try giving Lee a call. He may charge significantly less. And I personally feel his leather is of a higher quality than Todds. His stuff is for real use, that's what he does. All of his holsters, etc are high quality because that's what he makes. He's not providing for a costume, he is providing holsters that can be used for a costume (and are somehow perfectly patterned after Indy's). ;) But Todd's stuff is great none the less.

I recieved my Magnoli MK VII today as well. I was surprised at how small it was but then I went and watched Raiders and it seems about the same size. Funny how you get an idea of what some gear is like and you are totally wrong. At any rate, I love the bag. Thanks Magnoli.

I just got mine today and I am very blown away by its quality. I am so freakin' impressed!!

Unfortunately, the kids saw me open the package and I'm probably gonna have to get two more now.

Thats a great looking bag Cole, I especially like the strap; the color looks very SA to the strap in Raiders. How does the Magnoli bag compare to the WPG repro bag?

i think it is better. the only things i do not like about my bag is that it doesn't have a full width, full depth pocket to carry magazines & notebooks & such. the femail snaps on the flap were a little loose for my taste, (they had a little bit of a "jingle to them). however i was able to fix that with some roll pin punches i had in the garage...

LOL guess now I'm in the same boat. Wanted to get a bag so after lookinh around I decided on the Magnoli. Thing is, i didn't know he was located in New Zeland before buying it. So now, 2 1/2 weeks later I'm still waiting.

He emailed me saying I should wait another 2 weeks to see if it comes in. Or maybe it got lost in transit.

Oh well, since he's a well respected member of this board I will give him benefit of the doubt, and seeing that tohers have had the same issues, I'll be patient :?
