My new Magnoli HJ is here (pics with Adventurer)
I was overjoyed to find a surprise package on Monday, my new Magnoli Herbert Johnson (Raven Bar styling, thanks Steve!) arrived! Its definitely a little smaller than the Akubra, but I think I like the tighter fit, though its a mite snug at the moment. (whereas the Adventurer is on the big 58 side). The color is very, very nice, no daytime photos, sorry, but I snapped these off tonight. Can anyone reccomend some good brim styling tricks, to get the curve back, looks like it took a little beating during shipping as to be expected.
There's some more shots on photobucket including a couple flash pics.

That's crazy talk.Dutch_jones wrote:Honestly: I have to ask , why such a tall crown? This has to be the tallest indy hat I've seen to date. The crownheight/brim width looks way out of proportion for an Indy hat. I would send that back if I where you.
Unless the ribbon is inordinately wide, the proportions are about right. It might benefit from having the center dent creased a little deeper to lower the front pinch.

First, Venkman,
That is one fine hat and my other fav bash to boot. I came this close to going with the Raven bash but went with an idol grab instead. Looks I would't have gone wrong either way. I love all these IM/AB/HJ's that are showing up.

That's going to be one tough call as the price point is going to be so close, but concider this. The Henry will be factory built (though possably the finest factory hat ever ) where the IM/AB/HJ is hand built by Steve. And if it's a Raider's hat you want, well...you have your hat.DR Ulloa wrote:That is a beautiful hat. I really like these. I want to pick one up but don't know if I should go with the AB Henry instead.

Magnoli
Just put in an order for a magnoli two days ago. Now I just have to patiently wait.

Magnoli
Magnoli told me 1 to 2 months or 2 to 3 depending on volume. It's not a bad wait if you ask me.
