Don't worry, it's not an erotic image. Just the sleeve seam of my denim Wested, after only 2 months of regular use. I'm a BIG BIG BIG fan of Wested (have 3 jackets) and I understand that the denim is a cheap (made in China??) jacket, but...........

it looks like it can easily be fixed with a needle & thread.
although after only two months of regular wear, i know what you are trying to get at  ...

Are the denim jackets REALLY made in China? I sure hope not because I was wanting to order one this fall.

Yes, I fixed it easily, not a big problem.

Anyway, the label on the jacket says: 'Made by craftsmen', not 'by British craftsmen', so I think they are made outside UK. And this means Asia.

They're from Pakistan (Correction INDIA). You'll notice that outsourced jackets don't have the union jack flag in them.... Unlike Reboks! :).

Do you know if they outsource only certain jacket types or does it depend on their current work load? I'm asking cause I have two Das Boot jackets, one brown one black, but only the brown one says "made by british craftsmen" :-) Not that I'd care, great jackets anyway.

It depends on the jacket. You're right, the black Dr Who's had a production run overseas. The brown and novapelle ones are made on the premises.

The Roltaa, and Crush? are made overseas, some others too.

Not even from Pakistan
They are made in India, more expensive to make but better quality and fit.

For a seam to go it must have been stressed and better the cotton breaks than the cloth as you stated it is really easy to fix.
In saying that it should not have happened and I apologise although I must say I have not had this problem and we have sold loads.
Cheers

The Dr Who is available in novapelle? Are these custom made or off the rack?

Also, my understanding is that the novapelle 'sooks up' water (more so than the normal distressed) - if it's treated with Pecards gel (like your CS) does this prevent this happening (it's pretty wet in my neck of the woods).

They have some otr np Dr Who's in the shop, I think they make one or two if they have spare capacity.

The NP does have quite a matte surface when brand new, a coat of pecards (I used the standard dressing) gives it a bit of lustre and helps it bead water, after a few months it will need a re apply, but you do get that nice deep colour.
