Why not Wested for KOTCS?

I was wondering if anyone knew why the costumers, etc...decided not to go with Wested for the fourth movie?
Has Wested, like HJ gone down in quality??
Speaking of, why not HJ for the Fedora also?
I'm not complaining, as I really don't care...I just wondered why, after almost a decade of working together, they didn't go back to Wested and HJ for the same stuff.
Does anyone know if the shoes are still Aldens??

The boots are still the tried and true Alden 405's, as usual.
As to Wested, from all reports, it was purely logistics. The majority of the filming was done in California, and they waited until the last minute to get around to sourcing the jacket. Wested is in England. They chose a California maker, as he was literally in their backyard. It had nothing to do with quality, it was the turn around time.
As to HJ, same thing....same logistical problem, as well as the original maker (Richard Swales) was no longer at HJ. HJ has NEVER been all that interested in being a film production 'prop' house, so I'm sure they could have cared less to be involved in the first place. This is only my opinion, though.

Well, I believe this was discussed in another thread somewhere. You may want to do some digging, but the short answer is that the costume designer for KotCS wanted to find somewhat local (i.e. in the US) vendors for the gear, I think to avoid having to deal with drastic timezone differences in communication, and to keep close tabs on production progress. Given that, it makes both HJ and Wested less attractive.
There is no indication that I have seen that quality had any bearing in the decision not to use Wested or HJ. Perhaps those with more first hand knowledge would be able to say more.
Yes, the boots are still Aldens.

Well, that's two with the same reasons. Anyone else want to chime in?

I'm thinking it was both logistics AND location.

I disagree --- I think it was location and logistics not logistics and location.

You may have to change your logistics and location to find more

If that doesn't work, try changing your timezone.

I'm sure backstage is sorry he asked now.
It's probably time to close this mess down. I believe we've covered the question, and THEN some!
