Other than the sleeves being about an inch too short for your arm lenght, the jacket itself looks solid. Looks like Peter and Co. knocked this one out of the park! Bravo!

I don't think sleeves are too short! Just pull down them a little

But they will begin to ride up with regular wear once the wrinkles in the sleeves begin to hold shape.

Please know that my sleeve lenght is actually slightly longer than on the picture (I had to stretch out with my cellphone to make that picture).
Indeed, one inch longer wouldn't have hurt, but I wanted exactly the same sleeve lenght as my old Wested, which felt great.
Peter, if you read this:
I'm very, very happy with it.

You gotta like that collar placement on the storm flap.

now theres a rare sight, a perfect Raiders Jacket. I ordered one with the same specs 4 weeks ago about a week and a half before Peter said no more custom orders for now so I hope mines as awesome as yours!

by Rom Hunter
I think it will be, starks.
The only thing Peter could not do for me was the Arm below Yoke seam placement, but he already warned me about that.
And, to be a real honest, I ordered a slightly different, even more SA inside pocket type.
Other than that: spot on.

Thanks, Platon.
Ok, the coming days I will be fighting the demon roll.
The irony is that in my standard cut wested I am trying to create demon roll and it's impossible.
I love the demon roll.
Why are there stitch marks under the inside pocket?

Do I need to remind you that the demon roll is SA?

Maybe so in some instances, PLATON, but I sure don't want to deal with it. I have enough demons to deal with as it is that I sure don't need another one in my jacket!

LOL
Platon,
The stich marks are of the Union Jack label, which I removed just before taking that picture.
You can't see them anymore now.
Same goes for that silly white
Real Leather tag on the inside of the jacket.
I only left the
Wested label in.
I like it plain.

Yes, I love the lambskin lining.
Feels great.
Two inside pockets too!

The Perfect Raiders Jacket?

I've been looking for the thread that details the specs for the perfect Raiders jacket but can't find it anymore.
Are the specs you have on your custom jacket what I should ask Wested for if I want the Perfect jacket??
Thanks,
GeordieIndy

Why you asked for small pockets, when the original Raiders were big?

This has been discussed many times before. That photo is shot from a strange perspective and it is not the jacket we see in most of the film where the pockets are in fact smaller. This is a publicity photo with whatever jacket they had available.
Just look at Todd's jackets they too have a smaller pocket and they are very accurate. There are only a couple of brief shots in the movie where the pockets appear a little larger. Most of the time they appear small.
If someone could tell me how to place a photo on here, I can show you a much better photo.

Here's another photo. Pocket doesn't seem so small.

CM, first to need to make sure your photos fit the forums specs, no taller than 480 px high and no wider than 640 px.
Then go to an
image hosting site like:
Imageshack, or
Photobucket., (you have to register with photobucket but not with imageshack).
Then upload your photos, once uploaded you will be offered a list of different "codes" that you can copy and paste into your message and these will link in the pictures. The descriptions are pretty self explanatory, but if you are unsure, just hit the preview button whist writing your post and see if they show up the way you want them to.

Big pockets, small pockets, scallops or no scallops, who cares? There were dozens of jackets and they were all different. Get one of each if it really bothers you that much.

Almost.
The piped inside pocket should actually be a
slit inside pocket.
Also, I'm certain that most jackets in ROTLA used black metal
triglides, instead of black rectangular loops, but that subject is still open for discussion.
The nickel zipper should actually be an
alluminium zipper, but that's more vulnerable.
The pockets should be slightly more off-centered, like the Todds pockets, but that looks a little bit odd IMO.
And the arm vs. yoke seam placement isn't 100% SA.
Other than that: perfect.

Please pardon my newbie ignorance, but IMO the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. What is the "demon roll"?

It's when the lapel keeps turning inside out.

How did you even GET THIS?

How did you even GET this jacket?
From what I've been reading in other threads, Wested has cut down their customization options by a lot. (Which you can see by mere 3 or 4 options on their website). How did you get them to agree to this many tweaks and personal specs?
Also, how long was the wait time to get it?

Because it's just my size.

indycurtis,
I was one of the last special custom orders Peter accepted before the premiere of KotCS.
BTW: I conquered that left demon roll.

Jacket looks good. I purchased one and the sleeves seem a bit long for me.But now with all the great info, I see they are the right length. Enjoy.

Hello, Rom.
I am in the market for this very jacket (pending a trip to the haberdasher for a correct sizing) and wanted to clarify EXACTLY what to order from Peter when I call with my measurements. For example: "Pleat Depth" is one thing I don't understand what you are talking about. Just clarify the details you mentioned above, and add any other details not on this list please.
Jacket looks fantastic by the way! This is the one I want!
To everyone: How far below the waist/belt-line should the jacket end with hands at your side? Watching the movies, it is difficult to discern. The sleeve length is easy to figure out, but the waist not so much so. Also, the shoulder width. Where SHOULD the back panel end and the sleeves begin, in relation to the outermost width of the shoulders? Should they be at the actual shoulder/arm outside width, inboard of the shoulder/arm outside width our further down the arm? Perhaps I just leave this to Peter, but while we are picking nits...
Thanks in advance to all...

Hi,
I am also in the market for just this jacket. Any clarification you can give on the specs you used to order with Peter would be helpful.
BTW, what is the general concensus on the pocket size? I like the look of the pockets on this jacket but I think I would like them just a little bit larger.
Thanks
