New G&B jacket review

No camera, so no photos...
So now I have a G&B, along with a Wested. My Wested is a 42 goat and about 5 years old.
The G&B is 42T goat and it only took 6 days to get to me in Melbourne!!! Thanks Jessica.
How do I compare them? In terms of leather, the Wested holds up pretty well. Good solid goat. Nice texture.
However – the G&B fits better and is slightly trimmer and shorter. The sleeves are a little slimmer towards the wrist. The pockets are almost (slightly smaller) the same size as my Wested (8 inches by 7 inches) but the pocket flap on the G&B is fantastic! It looks like the real thing. It’s nicely shaped and a quarter inch deeper.
The straps sit better, as do the vents, which rest tightly folded. I love the black rectangular sliders. Love those gussets too.
Mind you it’s a brand new jacket, so it’ll need to loosen up.
The lining I’m not keen on – it’s shiny nylon, but hopefully will wear okay. I'd also don't really like the lack of leather facing - just 1.5 inches would do it...
The key difference is in the impression they make. My old Wested (nice though it is) looks like it was made at home by a skilled domestic seamstress. The G&B looks like it was made by pros. There’s more confidence in the design and in the stitching. However, I imagine that Wested has improved a bit since I bought there five years ago
This G&B is as screen accurate and solid as I’d ever want a jacket to be. And it hardly does that old flying squirrel thing – is that those gussets at work?
Regards
