Got a call from Schmidty today. My Aldens were shipped out and are on their way. Alden foot or not, I can not wait to get these shoes.

I just got my first pair of Aldens today. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think they are the most comfortable shoes I own.

I just ordered with Schmidty yesterday. He checked with the factory on my size and said it would be 12-14 weeks, as they're just starting a run.
Talk about a long wait!

My Aldens were (and still kind of are) painful while I'm not walking around. I ordered the D width because that's all schmidty carries when I probably should have gone with E. Nevertheless, the shoes are stretching out and conforming to my feet, so they'll be comfortable in no time.

My recommendation is that if they feel snug, get the next size up. Mine were snug and I though about letting them "stretch out"...then decided against it. Got the next size up and couldn't be happier.

Thats what I thought.....but they really don't.
They do get more comfortable, but they never really stretch out much, just conform to your feet more. I had the same problem, and I really regret not going up a width. Theres also a lot of added stress on the stitching due to the extra width. I'm always afraid the upper on mine are going to pull apart one day. But I've come to the conclusion that my shoes are too worn in, and too much of a part of me to get rid of now. I will be buying another pair at some point though from Schmidtty.

I am hoping I chose the correct size. I was debating between a 9 1/2 and a 10. I went with the bigger size. I hope they get here by tomorrow.

That's what I was going to post...It seems like they settle into the shape of your foot.

Doherty,
I've got a 9 1/2 in stock if we need it. No big deal man. You'll still be the best dressed guy at the premiere!!

Sorry to hear that. Schmidty had told me that when he contacted Alden, they told him that they didn't stock my size even though it's printed in their catalog. So, if I wanted to do an "add to stock run," it would take 16 weeks. Then, the very next day when Schmidty called them to do an "add to stock run," they said that they had my size in stock. Woohoo! Now, I have to wait for Alden to ship it next week to Schmidty, so he can ship it to me. Thanks Schmidty for the superb customer service.

Actually, they're already well on their way. Barely hurt at all after hours of wear.
