Todd's Shirts available for pre-order

Post by Puppetboy »

Hey, Y'all,

The date has been set and I can now take pre-orders, which I would recommend because I'm not getting that many of these and they'll go fast.

You can read about it here:

http://www.toddscostumes.com/indy/india ... _shirt.htm

The color is khaki, and the size "Large" (Ford's size) will be in stock to ship by May 9. The other sizes will be in stock by May 23. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll arrive in time for May 22, but I can't guarantee it.

The price has been reduced to $49.95. A few have been so insistent on pre-ordering that we've reluctantly taken your pre-order at the original price of $58. Sorry about that, but that's why we told you we weren't taking pre-orders. Contact us and we'll refund the difference minus an $8.09 charge for making us re-fund and re-do your order (just kidding. We'll refund the difference).

Anyway, that's the scoop.

3 minutes later and I have a LG & Med on order. With my frame, I can go either way. So now I'm safe 8) ...... Ready on May 9th, only 10 days.... that converts to a month in indygear waiting time

Hi Todd,

I just sent you a email (I’m Hector Martin, and I used the fink@anpyp.org email for my PayPal payments) but I want to be sure you get this; I pre-ordered you a M size a few weeks ago, but since now we know those are not gonna be ready until late may after the KoTCS premiere, I wish you can change my shirt order to a L size. (I’m almost an L anyway I think, must of my shirts have a 21 ½” chest width)

I really want to be fully geared up for May 22 and I’m waiting a few extra items from you (replacement hat ribbons, deluxe bag straps, etc.), so this is why I wish to change my order, Is this possible with out too much trouble?

About the refund you offered, I won’t ask you for it! Just do your best for me to try to changing my order and send me the stuff on May 9 or ASAP, please! (Yeah, I’m in panic here! Hahaha! Even if you ship my stuff on May 9, there’s a chance our national customs wont have it ready on time!)

I’m really sorry about this, normally I wouldn’t bother anyone so much, but I really wish to have my gear ready for May 22 and already invested a large sum of money on this.

Thank you for understanding, cheers!

Hector Martin.

I'd probably need a small as well, so it looks like this option is out for the premiere.

I to just ordered a large, can't wait. My closet is getting kinda full of different manufactures of the infamous Indy shirt. Wested, WPG, Indy Magnoli, NH, and AB.

I love my Todds custom jacket, now I'll have one of shirts.

I ordered a Medium but I'll probably need a small.

But I ordered a Medium because I'm on a "weight gain mission". When I can fill out a medium the way I want to, then I will have reached my goal.

I wear a Medium in every other shirt...so this shouldn't be too bad. I guess for Indy shirts I go down a size in order to get the "fitted" look.

So are these slim fit? He said the large was Ford's size, does that mean 40 chest 34 waist? I already have a Magnoli on order for the premiere, but I'm definitely going to pick one of these up at some point.

Guys, I am awaiting the measurement breakdown from the pattern grading service. All I can say is buy the size you buy at the department store. You know what size you buy ... small, medium, large, etc. If you are in between, go up a size. The shirts will follow standard sizing in general. I will pass on exact dimensions on each size as soon as I have them. Do you guys have these problems ordering from LL Bean or Lands' End? I don't believe those guys provide detailed charts on each shirt that they sell.

Actually, if possible, it would be cool to know some measurements for all of the sizes, just so we know what to order and expect. I'm always going back and forth between shirt sizes depending on the cut of a particular shirt, and I really want to get the right size the first time with this one.

:)

EDIT:

Oops, posted at the same time you were, Todd.

I know from personal experience that one shirt maker's XL is another's XXL, and I've tried on XXL's I could barely button up the front and XL's that were huge, it frequently depends on the cut of the entire shirt. It usually comes down to guessing on that first order, to get an idea of how a particular maker sizes their shirts, I'm just hoping to avoid that here, if possible.

:) :)

Todd, I only asked because sometimes a medium fits perfect, but sometimes I fit the large. It has to do with the cut of the shirt, but more importantly, the collar size for me. I wear about a 16 neck, but chances are that the medium will actually fit me better in the body and sleeve length. It's kind of hard for me to win.

Pre-ordered my LARGE shirt this morning! Looking forward to it PB!

I still plan on buying a few French Air Force shirts I saw online for about $5.90 ea., redying them and making my own, but that's more of a 'just for the heck of it' thing now.

I've just preordered my shirt, size Medium! Can't wait to see the results of Todd's work - I've been very pleased with the other items I've ordered from him in the past.

When will we see the pants, Todd?

Todd
Actually, yes I do have problems buying shirts from them, as well as many other stores, so I am not just asking for a size chart for no reason. For example, I spend a lot of money and have tons of button-up shirts from banana republic and depending on the shirt sometimes I need a large and sometimes I need an xl. This is a store where I buy probably two nice dress shirts every other week from yet I vary in sizes.

I understand that it might seem a bit frustrating to you with several people asking for a size chart when you have just put the shirt up for pre-order, but with the cost and hassel of shipping, not to mention the concern for having a proper shirt in time for openng day (which yours appears to be not to mention that it is offered at a great price), some of us would just like to make sure we order the right sized shirt.

I'm looking forward to picking one of these up soon.

I didn't mean that exchanges with Todd is a problem, I meant the whole mailing it back part and dealing with whatever mail service being the trouble. I've never had anything but A+ customer service from Todd's.

I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering up an xl and it will be perfect. :D

"Sizing: order your normal off-the-rack size. The shirt will be a little wider in the shoulders, a little closer around the waist, and a little longer in the sleeve than a standard generic cut, but that is what makes this shirt an indy shirt. XL and XXL are cut normally around the waist."

So, the shirts above Size Large aren't tailored in the waist?

Oooooh, very important point. I've ordered an XL, but want the fitted waist. Sure would love to have an answer to this question before it ships!

I'll place my order on Friday, as soon as my payroll deposit is made. An Indy shirt for that price is great news. Hopefully, it's not going to be overly bulky in the body like the WPG shirts have been. I'm one size larger than I was in high school, but that was a long time ago. Even so, the WPG shirt is still too baggy on me. If anyone is a size large and fuller bodied to fit the WPG shirt, I'd consider thinning out my collection of Indy shirts. PM me if interested.

I'm really slim and got a WPG large as well, it actually fit pretty well after a couple washings, it really shrinks away to nothing, true if you want it to be really tight and form fitting this is probably not the best shirt, but I prefer a slightly loose fit.

I'm interested to see how the slim waist/wide shoulder look of the Todd's shirt turns out.

6'1" tall, 40 chest, 34 waist, and supposedly his jacket sleeves were made half an inch longer than regular, take that as you will.

Actually, yes, I have had that problem with Bean. Their size chart runs large. I had to get accustomed to their sizing.
