Hello everyone!! Got my Todd's Standard XXL about a couple days ago... It Finally Fits me!! So here are some pics of it distressed... I spent about an hour on it with a good ol' Sandpaper (400 grit) and wire brush... Distressed in Raiders style... Now I gotta put some pecard on it as soon as it gets in. enjoy!!

put some pecards on it.it will blend out the distressed areas more.it has to much contrast between the dark and the light spots.and it will also give it a look of brown undertone instead of grey.

and loosen those sidestraps up..they are thightend to tearing point.if you dont loosen them up? then be carefull about what you do...they will tear eventualley..I speak from experience

Thank you for all the advice Holt!! I just loosened them up a little. I didn't even realize how tight those were... sure didn't feel like it. Anywho, yes, I am definitely putting some pecards on... I am just waiting for it to get here... I am putting on the pecards leather lotion though, not the classic paste... Everyone was saying that the classic might run a little too heavy on this jacket. Anywho, thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

Haha... yeah, it sure does look like I've been through some boulder related adventure, doesn't it? Hope I didn't overdo it... I think it'll look pretty good after I apply some Pecards on it...

This is very distressing! That jacket was run through the gravel under a duece-n-half truck!

What method did you use? I used only alcohol and that is it on my Todd's. Still need to order some Pecard. Should we use Pecard brown or does Pecard make a nuetral / clear treatment solution?

Haha... yup, that was pretty much the idea... the look of the jacket after it got dragged behind a truck... I just used a 400 grit sandpaper and a wire brush. I especially liked the effect on the sleeves... I basically wore the jacket and bent my elbow.. got as much crease I could get and started sanding while my arm was still bent. I did the same on the other arm and that gave very natural distressed look of the creases and folds in the sleeve area. I distressed pretty much all areas that way except for the back since I am no contortionist... I couldn't believe how awesome it looked afterwards... For some reason, the initial shininess of the jacket kind of gave it a very light look, but after I took the shines out, it somehow gave it a bit more weight in look wise. In my opinion, it looked pretty much like the actual movie jacket with that dull brown look. I think it'll look even better with some Pecards on... As for the kind of Pecards you are supposed to use for this particular jacket (According to Michaelson and the actual Pecard site), is their leather lotion... They were saying that Lamb skin is too thin to be using the pasty stuff... and especially, Todd's jacket isn't exactly thick either... so I am going to use a pecard leather lotion on this baby... I'll post another pic after it's done....

IMO the only way to artificially distress a jacket.

After all: a jacket gets distressed from wearing it, not from lying it flat on a bed.

Should be at #1 in any distressing tutorial.

i'm thinking about ordering one of these in xxl but worried abit about sizeing it sounds like they run a little on the small side could you measure the jacket from pit to pit for me and the length down the back? it would be much appreciated.

Okay here ya go...
Sleeve : 25"
Pit to Pit : 23"
Neck to Back : 25" (right under the collar to the bottom part of the flap)
