I'm vacationing in the Smoky Mountains and came across some Rockport Farnums at the outlet mall here! I had to get a sz 10 [normally a 10.5] they're dark tan and only cost $69. I had looked at them yesterday, but, couldn't decide if they looked too pointy on my feet. Glad I waited.. yesterday they were $89. My indescision gave me $20!

Will be posting photos tomorrow.. hope you don't mind another Farnum thread?!

I'm thinking of buying Alden laces to make it look even more close enough. Has anyone done this?

Jimmy Buffett has a line - "Indecision may or may not be my problem..."
No problem for you, though - good score on the dark tans!

Here are the much delayed photos. I took them with an almost dead battery, and then had to hunt for the elusive usb cable to upload then resize them. haha

PICASA didn't want to play nice with me so I'm just liking to the photos.

What does everyone think I should do to make them more Raiders accurate? I want to stop in to the Alden shop when I'm back home to see if I can get 405 laces instead of these round ones, but what about darker polish etc?

I'd say darker polish, but only on the really light areas. Towards the front of the boot already looks pretty good. I'd go with either brown polish, or if you want to get some reddish tones in get cordovan color polish...

I will also be appying Fullers Earth to them so that will have a bearing on the polishing needs... forgot to add that.
