Hello everybody!! Just ordered my first pair of Alden 405 from Shmidty!! I totally recommend doing business with him. Incredible service, awesome guy to talk to and most of all, he's an Indy Fan!! Expecting a shipment either today or tomorrow... so I guess I'll get them in here about in a week or two!! Can't wait!! Thank you Schmidty!!

Congratulations!

I just had a wonderful chat with Schmidty yesterday, and ordered my first pair of Aldens from him. I'm really really excited to get them! I have been wanting these boots for some time, and I can't wait to finally stop drooling on my keyboard, and start drooling on the shoes themselves! ;-)

I guess we will both be getting them in around the same time. I don't know about you, but I feel like a little kid a few days before Christmas.

Not to answer for him, but I'm pretty sure it'll be the same as any other Alden 405 from his shop - $270 plus $8 shipping. :junior: -M

I just talked to Schmidty today... What a nice guy!! He did everything he could to help me out, even over the phone (The lady who answered the phone was very nice as well). He even called me back (I am in Canada) to confirm the orders and stuff!! Sir, you've got me as your customer for life!! It's been snowing all day up here... and the weather's been pretty miserable (In Mid April... You gotta love Canada!!), but you totally made my day!! Hooray for Schmidty!!

Aeris, yes, the boots COME with laces. And whereas I don't supply "Alden" laces, I do throw in an extra pair of 45" flat brown dress laces at no extra charge. Not Alden laces, but free.

Thanks. I've got some brown laces that I came across somewhere, and I'll keep using them until they fail - probably won't be long. I'll let you know when I need new ones.

Hello all! I ordered my first pair of Alden 405 from Shmidty!! He is the one to do business with. He sent them out on Saturday and they were here on Monday!! Incredible service. Thank you Schmidty!! By the way go with your actual foot size the boots fit perfect...no size up or down.

While we're in here, will you also be a source for replacement shoe strings, Schmidty?

Yes Michaelson, I DO have shoe laces! They are NOT however "Alden" laces. They are in fact 45" flat brown dress laces which work in the boots. They aren't SA but are a similar type to those that come with the boots. Actually, anyone who has a shoe repair/cobbler near them should be able to find them. If they don't carry them, start bugging them!! Or...call me. I always have them.

I have received my Alden 405s.

schmidty sent them out on Monday, and I received them today (Wednesday). That's pretty darn fast!

They're perfect. schmidty's sizing advise was dead-on.

He sent mine out on Monday as well, but I live all the way across the country, hopefully tomorrow. And hopefully they fit, neither of us was positive which size I needed.

No 11D's on hand, mine are being ordered

I called the shop today. He is going to call me when he gets some 10's in. For some reason, the shoes seem to be the part of the costume that I am most excited about.

That's wierd how the shipping runs throughout the US. I'm in Georgia, near the Florida border, while you are in Ohio, much closer to Illinois that I am.....could be a conspiracy!

I'll definitely do that! Our last local shoe repair shop closed when the owner passed away last year, so there's nothing near me anymore, and no one carries anything but the round 45" laces that I don't like.

When the needs arrives, you'll be hearing from me!
